Walked in around 7 on a busy table. Got seated immediately at a communal table. Service was great. Recommend the Jack Satan cocktail and all the tacos.

Arriving without a reservation, we decided to have a drink at the bar near to the entrance, and then had delicious appetizers there to complete our meal.

I am a proud born and raised Californian. So usually I am horrified at high end Latino food. It is usually unrecognizable from the food I have grown up eating. Not so with Comal. Maybe it's a little fancier than what you get at your favorite taqueria, but so delicious. From the cocktails to the food everything was very good... More

Stopped in here for a small business dinner while in the area and glad to get a table - seemed very popular. Appetizers were great and while the menu is fairly small, the food was outstanding - fast and really good flavors. I'd go here again. Instead of tipping, a 20% charge is added to the check.

Unlike most popular restaurants you can hear yourself talk at Comal. They have a unique system that is similar to noise cancelling headphones making conversation enjoyable even when crowded. The food was very tasty and the margarita was excellent without the overly sweet mix flavor. The outside seating is very appealing and the entire place simply feels good. Looking forward... More

Nice place with good wine and tasty tapas. Everything is reasonably priced too- except for the 20% service charge added to your bill. We were sitting at the bar, had 2 glasses of wine and some chips + guacamole and still got charged 20% extra. Isn't the amount of tip up to the customer's discretion? I hate feeling taken advantage... More

Is this expensive Mexican food? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Of course you can get Mexican food from a truck that will fill you up and be affordable, that's the easy part. The hard part is deciding what decadent flavor you want to try from Comal. This is not an everyday place, save it for for good company, conversation,... More

We were in the area for business and decided to try Comal. There was a very positive vibe in her place when we entered. We started with the chips and salsa. Very tasty start. There was also a good selection of California craft beers. I had the rock cod fish tacos and they were fantastic. Reasonable portion size, well presented,... More

This is not a regular Mexican restaurant, it is a truly sophisticated facility with very accomplished culinary aspirations . The comal themselves are great and so are the many " Tapa " style multiple dishes . The bartenders are delightful . Joanna a young bartender / manager is a very capable person who has been able to assemble a great... More

We 've been to Oaxaca a number of times so we appreciate the food and Comal does an excellent job of cooking Oaxaca-style food. The dishes are served as tapas, that is small plates, but not small flavors. We loved the himachi, spicy watermelon, and the guacamole and three salsas. While each dish was reasonably priced the bill added up... More
