Great lunch spot with amazing views

First time going to Bella Siena for lunch. The fixed price lunch menu is a great way to experience their offerings at a reduced price. All courses were half portioned and a perfect size for lunch. One in our party ordered a full size entree and it was such a large portion for lunch, but they preferred that. I enjoyed the Napa Cabbage Salad and Penne Pasta with chicken. Blueberry Sorbet wrapped up the meal with a tangy sweetness. The views in this restaurant are amazing.

Would Have Appreciated More With a View

Arrived after dark. Service was attentive and quick. Dishes were served hot. 2 Pasta dishes, salmon & sm. salad, lamb, glass of wine /a lemonade/1 coffee and 2 desserts ran $180. w/ tip. These prices are 'special occassion' and would've been better warranted with what surely is a killer view in daylight.

Fabulous lunch or dinner spot!

Bella Siena Restaurant and Bar is a cozy spot with beautiful views of the Carquinez Straits. Dinners and lunches are made and served fresh and delicious! The service is remarkable. Wait Staff are very attentive and amazing! I highly recommend this Italian restaurant to anyone who visits Benicia!!!

Horible Hostess

Was looking for a place to enjoy our anniversary and bring our dog. Called 2 times leaving a message asking if they are pet friendly but no return call. Left our pupperz at home, saw a dog outside and asked, never did get a good reply from the hostess but obviously they do allow dogs on the patio. Made a reservation so when the hostess came I said we have a reservation and she never checked asking if we wanted inside our outside, no need for a reservation obviously. Our server Melanie was absolutely Awesome!!!! Food was very good although prawns a little over cooked but they are sensitive to heat and it's easy to slightly over cook them. Melanie and the food are a definite 5 star!!!!

Date night success!

What a beautiful location, our table was in the back against the window. We got to enjoy the sunsetting. The cocktails were tasty, pricey but good. We ordered the calamari appetizer- really it was more of a frito misto. The dipping sauce was really good and the calamari were perfect! I ordered the Saffron papperdelle with shrimp, mushrooms and artichokes. It was wonderful! So good. My husband ordered the Fruita de Mare...but unfortunately it was not a hit. There was a strange grittiness to the dish, a tell-tell sign of not properly cleaned shellfish (clams and mussels). It was disappointing, but didn't ruin the evening. We will for sure keep this place on our list of go to's!

Good food, but make a reservation

We arrived shortly after they opened and we hadn’t made a reservation....big mistake. We were offered a table on the patio, and as it was a warm afternoon, we decided to give it a try. It is a lovely patio; however, there is no view from the patio as other reviews have implied. They also informed us that there was a two hour time limit. The service was quick and very pleasant. The food was very good. We had mushroom risotto ($24) and mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce ($23). Both dishes were very good. I would definitely return here for dinner.

Never disappoints!

I've eaten at Bella several times. The employees are friendly and serve quality meals prepared and presented perfectly. The filet is one of my favorites. I had the mahi-mahi special on my last visit and it was amazing. The chocolate cake, creme brûlée, and gelato are all yummy so save room for dessert. I would recommend this restaurant for a wonderful meal. You can make reservations on Open Table. Bonus: the view.

Awesome food!!! Never disappoints!

We’ve been to this restaurant probably six or seven times; the two of us, groups of four or six and even larger groups. Every time the food has been fantastic the ambience is excellent with the view out on the water, and the wine is awesome. We highly recommend the gnocchi and the penne con Pollo. I recently had the lamb special and it was absolutely fantastic! We recommend this restaurant to all of our friends!!!!!!

Abysmal service, decent food

I hate to make a negative observation about a restaurant Benicia can take pride in. We have needed an upscale restaurant for as long as I've lived here so it is a very welcome addition, HOWEVER, the service during dinner this week was abysmal. Orders taken by a server with no personality or warmth, no smiles, no help with the menu. She seemed impatient and uninterested in us or what we might order. And then food was delivered at top speed by someone almost running from the kitchen and unceremoniously plunking plates down in front of us. Looking around we saw no wait staff who looked anything but rushed and grim. Perhaps everyone is overworked but the longer the restaurant allows this to go on the fewer people it will attract who enjoy good food AND good service. I hope this can be remedied.

Fine Dining Haven in Benicia

Benicia was long overdue for a more upscale restaurant, but Bella really delivers. Food is great as well as the service (shout out to Hannah!). We're here usually once a week and while we really should get back to branching out a bit more, why bother when Bella is just so consistent? In the best way possible. All the pastas are great, and the skirt steak is another fave. They usually have a great fish special that changes. And the evening sunset there is 👌

Server: Anthony --- Great Service, Fantastic Food

This was my first visit to Bella Siena (my wife's second). Our server, Anthony, was superior. The food (Sea Bass) was fantastic. This is really a nice restaurant, but we went mid-week and the place was packed by 5:30 P.M. - so I would recommend reservations.

Delicious food in a beautiful setting

We enjoyed a delicious lunch on their nice outdoor patio recently. The servers were friendly, helpful an attentive and really enhanced our experience. The only reason we didn't rate this restaurant with 5 stars was when we arrived the hostess stand was left unattended for quite awhile and we finally had to walk further into the restaurant and ask a busy server if we could be seated. Aside from that, our experience was wonderful in all other ways!

The best food in town, no competition.

What great service, what wonderful food. One wonders, how does a small town like Benicia get a super-chef to reside here? But somehow they have. My main dish was the pollo ripeno: chicken breast stuffed with spinach and wonderful, oh se wonderful pureed potatoes. My wife had the gnocchi al pesto with shrimps. All very good. Did I forget the bruschetta we shared at the beginning. In this case the bread it was served on was exemplary, not too soft, not too hard, seasoned with ... heavenly ingredients. We finished off with a shared tiramisu. I'm not kidding, the best we've eaten that we can remember.

Celebrating Anniversary

We celebrated our 56th and 57th anniversaries with good friends. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Napa cabbage salads and pasta dishes. Our bottle of Francis Ford Coppola, Directors Cut Zinfandel was exceptional. We were delighted when our very attentive server, Christina, brought us each a complimentary glass of Ruffino Prosecco to toast one another for our anniversaries.

Don’t bother.

Disappointing. 4 of us had lunch. Two chose veal piccata, one lobster ravioli, one penne and pollo. The veal was too salty, the lobster ravioli included very little lobster, and the penne dish had too much garlic. Every dish had too much sauce. This is our third time trying Benicia restaurants, and we won’t be returning.
