Two of us ordered the lamb shank which was overcooked, tough and sauce lacked flavor. Definitely was not falling off the bone. Server mentioned that this was the third time the lamb shank was returned that evening. Hmmm. Waiter offered to replace our entree and I chose was the pasta with clams. Very buttery and lacked wine and overall flavor.... More

This medium-sized Italian restaurant is located on the main street in the relatively sleepy town of Belmont. While it too has a friendly neighborhood feel, the food our group had was all excellent quality. It is a relatively small menu supplemented by almost as many specials. The two specials I had -- a sautéed octopus in red wine sauce and... More

Five of us went for a dinner just because it was time to get together. The raviolis were a little bland on the flavor but the pork chops and veal dishes were delicious. Service was great and very attentive without being obtrusive.

Ended up going to this restaurant twice, two nights in a row. Food was excellent both times. Server on the first night was perfect. Friendly, attentive, prompt, the whole package. The second night, different server, different experience. Slower service, not as friendly. If we are staying in the same area when I return next year, I'll be back, for the... More

This is your basic noisy neighborhood Italian place, souped up with table cloths and fairly high prices (outside of the kids' menu) for what you get. While others in my large group seemed to like their dinners, my fish was way overcooked, dry, and not too appetizing. Kids seem to like it quite a bit and the pizza seems ok,... More

Divino is always my favorite Italian restaurant in san mateo area. My favorite dishes are FEDELINI CON VONGOLE(Thin spaghetti with Fresh Clams, Garlic and White Wine Sauce) and QUINOA(Clams, Mussels, Calamari, Shrimp, Saffron and Tomato Sauce over Quinoa(Gluten Free)). Both are on their regular menu. They do offer special menu during night time. Dessert is nice and delicious. Dinning area... More

While visiting a friend in Belmont, we happened upon a memorable dining experience. With an irresistible aroma of garlic wafting through the autumn air, we were welcomed into the intimate dining room though we had no reservations. House-made bread was served with a delightful herb-infused olive oil. The salads and entrees were absolutely delicious (a pappardelle Bolognese and clams with... More

Divino used to be our favorite Italian restaurant. But at a recent visit, we found it changed for the worse. Seems a new chef was in charge, and the cooking became more saucy. The Ling COD special looked and tasted like red snapper. Linguini was swimming in oil. Rather disappointing.

Quiet, no background music. Few large tables. Little ambience, walls muted, low lighting, food mediocre, service bland.

We had the pleasure of dining at Divino's after a Masterworks Chorale concert yesterday. Our first time at the restaurant, but most certainly not our last. The extensive menu, including that for a host of daily specials, made a meal choice more than just a bit challenging. So many tasty sounding choices. Our group opted for the special 5 Onion... More
