Casa Velasco Mexican Restaurant Bass Lake Local Favorite for Sure... 735932630 Local Favorite for Sure... My wife who has not been able to eat solid food for more than a year and a half . Enjoyed her vegetarian taco so very much she ordered an extra one to bring home because of correct surgery. she can now enjoy full course meal, this was on the wish list for quite some time I had the two enchilada combo plate and it was as wonderful as I remember thank you so much for a great New Year’s eve dinner.. P.S. those people who gang up on a local restaurant and write bad reviews should be ashamed of their selves, simply making a legitimate response in person would go a lot further than bashing on the Internet. Makes one think that they are professional negative review writers

Excellent Chicken Fajitas

We were greeted by very warm staff on a chilly night. My son ordered a combination plate with a beef taco and enchilada and my husband and I shared chicken fajitas. Our meals were wonderful and filling. I had a margarita and it was delicious!! A couple of evenings later we ordered the same thing but to go. The weekends it was crazy busy but didn't wait too long for our food!

We usually go to eat at Casa Velasco every two weeks. The owner and staff are so friendly. Everything we have ordered has been fantastic. My spouse loves the fajitas and I usually order a combo plate. The albondiga soup is so delicious, sometimes I get some to go for another meal later. We are satisfied customers and it truly is our favorite place.

Fun little dinner spot w/ very friendly staff!

Our staff was great. They were honest about what was good and just 'ok'. We appreciated that before ordering! The kids loved the options on the kids menu. Other tables were talking with us and it felt very fun and inviting, even on a rainy night!

Cinco de Mayo 🌮

Cinco de mayo at Bass Lake was delicious! We were visiting the Yosemite area and wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant and Casa Velasco did not disappoint! Chips and salsa were amazing. Enchiladas were delicious too!

We are new locals to Bass Lake and so happy to have discovered this great little Mexican restaurant. They have great margaritas, salsa and chips and the food is fire bomb! I ordered the veggie fajitas and hubs ordered the chicken burrito. We both had margaritas. Service is great. They don't leave the chips empty or the drinks empty for very long! Great ambiance! Don't miss this place! Literally, it's just past Bass Lake Realty on the right hand side just before you head into the residential street.

Really good Mexican food! The shrimp fajitas were excellent and enough to split (although we did not). The margaritas were awesome! Went there twice in a week

Authentic and priced right, this restaurant cares about you and the quality of their food. Outside seating too. Excellent margaritas and beer choices as well.

Eaten here a number of times. The pollo diabla is very good. Enjoyed the chilie verde enchiladas as well. The owner is great and very nice!

Great Mexican Food and even better service

To start I'd like to thank the folks who cooked and served us as we showed up not long before closing and were starving. They totally accommodated us even though we were the only ones in the place...so THANK YOU! On to the details. The food is up there with the best mexican food I have had, great selection. It seemed to be a family run operation, which made our experience even better. As I mention the service was fantastic, very helpful, efficient and friendly. Definitely highly recommended!

I fully agree with CMPOOLSHARK's comments. My husband and I went here for dinner based on positive TA reviews. Maybe the management, cooks, or recipes have changed but we completely disliked our meals and the service. Our food was bland and not authentic Mexican. People may like going here for the volume/quantity of food but not for the quality or flavor. We ordered the sampler platter (mostly bland old fried food and the cheese in the quesadillas was not even melted) and the fish tacos (little bits of fish, not an actual whole piece of fish). Even the beans and rice were tasteless. Our waiter was a heavyset man probably in his early 20's who spent more time sitting in the front corner of the restaurant by the window checking his phone than checking on the customers. Several of the other waitstaff hung out in this corner - not a good impression since they are in front of the restaurant. I do not recommend eating here since there are other fabulous area restaurants. This restaurant was disappointing.
