I love this place! Every trip we take near Bakersfield has to make a stop here. Great atmosphere, service, food and coffee. Favorite spot is in a booth but if you’re a dinner stool person, they have them. Portions are not huge, but plenty, hash browns were amazing, crispy too.

Friendly servers, spotlessly clean, with well maintained vintage diner decor, we enjoyed our breakfast at 24th Street. At 9am on a Monday morning, it was bustling busy with locals and visitors, but service was efficient and attentive. Their delicious coffee, omelette, biscuits & gravy, and whole wheat banana nut pancakes made for a great start to our day. We’ll be back on our next visit to Bakersfield!

Everything was excellent! The Reuben sandwich was really great. The strawberry waffles were perfect. Our waitress was on her game. It rained and thundered while we ate our lunch and it couldn’t have been better. The awning leaked and a few people had to move but the staff handled it and we enjoyed the sounds of water falling while we chowed down. Food was great. Waitress and cook were great.

We stopped for a late lunch. I had the pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus the vegetable of the day. The fried pork chops were moist and tender (can also get them broiled) and the potatoes were real with wonderful spicy gravy. My husband had fish and chips which he enjoyed very much. The tartar sauce was lightly flavored with dill. Outstanding service and food.

Traveling north and stopped here for breakfast. There was a waiting line, so we opted for counter seating and were served very quickly. The staff are very efficient and provide for great service. Took our order and within a few minutes our meals were served. The came hot and as ordered. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The fried potatoes are very good - nothing added and cooked to just the right crispiness.
Parking can be an issue.

Great local spot, our favorite kind. Crowded and tiny parking lot. Pumpkin pancakes were recommended by server Amanda. The pancakes we amazing and the service was fast, friendly and helpful.

Found this gem, thanks to Trip Advisor. Great breakfast, a bit of a wait but well worth it. I had Hash and Eggs, and my wife the pan-fried Trout and eggs, both excellent. The Cinnamon roll pancake for 'dessert' was outstanding. Super cute and cool inside, great service considering how slammed this place got on Presidents Day at 11AM. If you are a breakfast fan, this place is for you but they have an impressive menu of other items if breakfast isn't in your plans.

So when you look at this diner from the outside, you don't realize that this is a great find. We found this place in October 2019 and now everytime we are in Bakersfield, we won't go elsewhere. Unique menu, the Cajun Seafood or Cajun Shrimp omelets are just amazing. I have not yet had anything bad from the menu. Their homemade chicken sausage, awesome as well.
A must try.......

Best breakfast anywhere! SO much to choose from, great biscuits and gravy 😋😋 pumpkin pancakes are just fabulous!( have their own pumpkin cinnamon butter!😳 omelettes so good. You can’t go wrong with anything you order. I treat myself once a month with friends or by myself. Great service, Donna is my favorite ❤️

Had breakfast here perhaps 6X without disappointment. Very extension menu with all the classics plus many regular special items listed on the menu. Friendly servers with ample portions. My only criticism is there is almost always a wait except at off hours and as a large man the tables are tight and small. This still doesn't stop me from returning. Give it a try you'll be satisfied.

I like comfort / food, and this place has it. This isn't fancy .. It's better, its good! Friendly and courteous staff. Good food and reasonable prices. We were lucky that we did not have to wait but one can see why there might be a line. Enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and loved the food? Chicken fried steak and eggs with sausage gravy. Hit the spot!!

Old school diner. I had the patty melt with fries and slaw and it was plentiful and tasty! Service was outstanding and prices were more than fair for what you got. Parking can be a challenge and really small bathrooms. Very busy at lunch time but that was due to the high quality of meals. My friend had the Reuben and it was gigantic but he loved it.

Our family has been coming to this restaurant for many years. We have never had anything here that wasn’t perfectly prepared. A very consistent kitchen and everything is just spot on. I hate to add more customers by this review because I wish this place was a well kept secret for the old timers . But they deserve the compliments. You will not be disappointed here.

Great menu, lots of varitey! Huge portions. Many burger options, many breakfast options. Outstanding BLT w/ nice thick crunchy bacon. Large burger patty with grilled bun and lots of fixin's. Seasoned fries.

“That experience couldn’t have been better!” Those were my husbands words as we left 24th Street Cafe. The food was amazing. The service was exceptional and the staff was friendly and attentive. It was a great stop for us. Can’t wait to come back!!
