I recently made reservations for Nov 21,2023 for five at 5 PM to celebrate a birthday. We thought y’all might be busy but that was an understatement. We were amazed when walking into the lobby that was jampacked with people ahead of us. But it gave us a chance to watch your crew at work and it was pretty amazing. Specifically the host. Through all the clamoring going on with 12-15 anxious customers, the Host was smiling and graciously welcoming each one as they stepped up to be processed through. Very professional and efficient as he passed each customer along to a waiting Attendant with instructions.
Being retired we eat out a lot and have the opportunity to critique the staff, service and food of each business we choose.
We were welcomed warmly and seated quickly as possible and waited on by Sarah who had a trainee alongside. We got excellent service and ate excellent food but it all started in the lobby. Walking in to a crowded lobby and being anxious about how this was going to turn out then watching the host (Steven is his name) calmly and smoothly handle everyone quickly and efficiently, started everything off right.
I commend Frugattis for their great Staff, quick friendly service and delicious food. We look forward to returning with no fear of crowded situations to bother us.

The menu is extensive. One page is a Fitness Menu which lists the calories and protein for each dish. I had the 4 oz salmon penne w/ creamy tomato sauce (55g protein and 650 calories) and my friend had the 8oz pesto cod (70g protein and 700 calories). There were numerous vegetarian and vegan dishes as well as appetizer sides, too. The waitress was eager to please when we ordered a lemonade Sparkling Pellegrino and brought two glasses so we could mix. The lemonade was refillable w/o charge. Our waitress was wonderful, the food scrumptious.

We had a fabulous server! She was great and even helped recommend a dish that deviated from the menu (baked penne with pesto and chicken breast). My husband had the braciole. Both of our meals were fabulous and again service was excellent.

Wow, how quickly things decline. We ate here on several occasions mid-summer and now just this week and it is amazing how things have slipped.
For example, we ordered the garlic shrimp linguini and sure enough a huge portion of noodles were served, but the shrimp were now salad size, like 60-80 count instead of 16-20 as we last enjoyed. Unacceptable.
Also, the clam chowder, touted to be homemade was not even as good as out of a can Progresso, watery and thin and tasteless with very few clams.
Several dishes were good: the rigatoni boulonnais and the NY steak were nice.
Service was appropriate.
Here's another gripe. Some or all of the pasta dinners are ala--carte now, but not clearly marked as such. For example, the fettucini dinner, which cost around $25 is served with no salad or soup. They were added for a ridiculous $5.69 per item. There's no way to explain this gouge for more money when compared to the other two premium italian restaurants in the area which come with a salad or soup.
They did serve some good bread, free, but without cheese now.
The cost of the large new building may be taking a toll.
We wont be back any time soon.

My wife is recovering from surgery but wanted Frugatti's, so I ordered the shrimp scampi over fettuccine to pickup. We got 5 medium shrimp with the tail shells still on, something that should never be done when in a sauce, disgusting. The alfredo was fine, it's hard to mess up alfredo, but Olive garden would have been as good for close to half the price. To top it all off, with takeout you don't get soup or salad, but it still costs as much, that had me steamed.

The ambiance was great. The wait for a table (with a reservation) slow. After seating we got a beverage then waited 20 minutes to see our server (who we could see working the outer patio area) brought our salad, as we asked for some bread. During this time we watched the busser leisurely and inefficiently clear the adjoining table with loud noise.
About 40 minutes later our meal arrived...warm (not hot) in temperature and haphazardly my salmon lay on the plate in a few pieces. The asparagus were cooked just right. The mashed potatoes were hotter and all tasted great.
It was my birthday so I ordered the peppermint cheesecake. Oops sold out so then I requested tiramisu. I think it had just been assembled as the lady fingers were crisp and easily cut with a knife :)
After an hour and a half we left our lunch.

We returned to Frugatti's for a wedding rehearsal dinner with 60 folks and had a fantastic experience, all around. the food was generous and super, the service was outstanding and the room was beautiful. The hor d'oeuvres were super, we had stuffed mushroom, garlic bread and chicken bites. All good. then we had a "caesar-like" salad that was just okay. Then for entrees we had tortellini in a pesto sauce and chicken fettuccini alfredo and both were fantastic. The service was spotless and we had a great experience. The only drawback was that this barrel roofed room can be noisy when filled with people which we did. This italian restaurant can be highly recommended. If you dont think it is great, just try to get a table on a weekend. Good luck!!!

We took our wives here for dinner because it was one restaurant serving on t patio. To start dinner we had two appetizers, stuffed mushrooms and artichoke toast points. T mushrooms were good but t other dish was marginal. My wife and i had ny steaks which were a nice size and cooked correctly. Mine was topped with mushrooms and onions. Very good. Our friends had lamb kabobs and masticholli. Both were ok.
BUT thats where t good news ends. T waitress brought out t appetizers at t same time as our salads after i told her we wanted to enjoy t appetizers first. Inexcusable. She blamed it on t kitchen. And before we barely got going on our salads she brought out t entrees. RIDICULOUS.
They were definitely putting t bums rush on us for a moderately priced dinner. $160 for four. Not fast food.
Besides all that they only seated us on an outdoor patio w a marginal heater and a windy draft blowing thru. Not acceptable.
I cant recommend dinner here. They’ve lost their way!

I always want our guests to feel like they can take their time in enjoying their meals, so I apologize if that wasn't the case for you last time. Also, I'm sorry if you could have been more comfortable seated on the patio. I'll look into the heater situation to ensure that a draft doesn't interrupt future dining experiences. Hoping we'll get to show you a better visit soon.

We have driven by this place many times. It always looked inviting. We looked up the reviews and it looked pretty good, so, we thought we would give it a try. I ordered the Lasagna (Ednas I believe). It was good but nothing special. My daughter had the Tortellini with sausage. The sausage was so spicy she couldn't eat it. She said it was ok, had better. Mamma had the Ham Sandwich, she said hers was ok. I had the salad with their Balsamic Dressing. What I got was some sort of road tar that tasted a bit like Balsamic Vinegar. It was edible but again nothing special. I am not saying the food was bad, it wasn't. I am just saying it was average among the other Italian Restaurants I have been too. Oh and the atmosphere and service were excellent.

Arriving in Bakersfield at 9:15 p.m., this restaurant welcomed us kindly. Efficient service. Good pizza and a sort of Happy Hour with interesting discounts on wine on Tuesday, HAPPY Tuesday.
We enjoyed ourselves in this Italian restaurant.

The first night we had dinner we had a party of 5, each of us had a different entree and each was amazing starting with the best bread and Ceasar salad. We were so impressed with the meals my husband and myself went back the next day and were fortunate enough to get the same server 'Roxy' what a great server. She actually remembered us and our drinks from the previous night. If you're ever in town make certain you visit, you won't be sorry.

Worst pizza in the world! Charged me $21 for a personal size pizza that was burnt on one one side, but still came out cold. Not warm but cold!
Waste of money. Rusty's pizza is a lot better quality and price.

The food was awesome the service was terrific We live in Visalia but when in Bakersfield we always come to Frugatti’s. The best Italian food by far. Amber is and has always been another reason we visit ❤️❤️❤️❤️

We were so pleased to be able to enjoy Frugatti's on a busy post Thanksgiving Friday night. We had the best server: Ali H. He was so upbeat and connected to all his customers around us. I just had to smile as we interacted with him. What a great restaurant with great personnel. I'd highly recommend it.

I waited over 50 minutes for my to go order when I was told 20 minutes. I was in the car waiting for my husband and after 25 minutes I went in to see what is going on, at least the manager gave it us a $25 credit for next time. I would not order take out from here, I watched as other people were being served the meatball lasagna we were waiting for. My Alfredo pasta was already separating because we had to wait for the lasagna.
