Went in for lunch craving some good thai and came out quite disappointed in two ways. First my drunken noodle chicken was bland and it is supposed to he spicy. It also was swimming in sauce. The bowl had soup half t way up t...bowl. Not right. Second, their price structure is ridiculous. My friend had a similar simple bowl. We drank water and had no desserts and the bill was over $40. For lunch. RIDICULOUS. I don’t think ill go back soon.More

I have been to Chef's Choice Noodle Bar for lunch and dinner multiple times and it never disappoints! My "go to" is the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice (great to share these two items, or the left-overs go home for a later meal). My...husband orders the surf & turf on a regular basis, with drunken noodles. I also recommend the spicy garlic edamame. Be forewarned - it is spicy!More

We ate here for lunch and we took a pad tai and a dish of noodle. The pad Thai was good but too heavy for lunch. The noodles were good. Perfect place for a very quick stop with reasonable prices!

Nice menu variety including lots of vegetarian choices. Well prepared and tasty. Especially liked tofu with peanut sauce...although if ordered again would request sauce on the side. Will visit again.

We found this place on Yelp and after coming to the area for many years for a conference, this was a delightful new find. They can accommodate large groups in a back room. There was a street fair going on so parking was a premium,...but well worth looking into. The service was quite fast and the food was very good. Three days later I am still missing it! Many vegan options. Shrimps were fairly large and very good. And you can get a 32 oz of draught beer!More

I love this place. Good service a great food. I like the pineapple fried rice and the yellow curry. Parking can be an issue but there is a parking garage.

Good food in downtown Bakersfield is a great place to eat if you've got an event at the Rabobank Convention Center (short walk away). My family likes noodles from a variety of places (Thai, Chinese, middle Eastern, American, etc.), so this is a good place...to eat for the family.More

Based on the number of good reviews this place had, my colleages and I decided to try some place new. I ordered the flat rice noodles and spicy papaya salad. The soup tasted very basic. The noodles were not prepared correctly and seems like they...just threw the noodles from the bag into my bowl and poured soup base over them. The "spicy" papaya is their special variant of the traditional papaya that is usually known in the Hmong, Thai, and Laotian cuisine and this variant doesn't come close to them. They also don't use peppers in this dish... How could it be ever be spicy then? I didn't enjoy the food, didn't touch much of it. There is much needed improvement not only in the taste department but the customer satisfaction and service departments. Thumbs down.More

Nice roomy restaurant with exotic Thai decor. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken, Pad See-Ew with beef and garlic spaghetti with shrimp. The order came out in just a few minutes and it was all good. Service was excellent and we were really taken care...of. Worth a trip to downtown Bakersfield. Street parking only.More

Unfortunately, this place is over priced and serves small portions. Food is good, but not much of it.

Downtown Bakersfield has some really good dining choices available nowadays. Chef's Choice Noodle Bar on the corner of 19th St. and Eye St. is one of these really good dining options. The restaurant's interior is tastefully decorated. Their booths are very comfortable also. The place...is always packed on our visits here. Fortunately, we've never had to wait for a table. Still, if you want to make sure, then you better make a reservation. They have plenty of dishes that they make really good. Some of our favorites are the Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and Pad See-Ew. Make sure to save room for dessert. On our visits here we have tried the sticky rice with custard, sticky rice with mango, banana plantains with ice cream, and salted caramel cake which are all delicious. Have not been there in awhile. Looking forward to returning in the not too distant future.More

This was our first time here at the Noodle Bar and i have to say it was a great experience. We arrived at 6:00 and was seated right away. The food was really really good and our server was very attentive. As we was leaving...we said WE WILL BE BACK. The only problem was parking. We had to park two blocks away but it was worth it.More

The food is better than from the average Chinese restaurant, especially when you arrive at a remote town like Bakersfield. My meal was definitely not the wrong choice. I had a bowl of lettuce and beef salad. The sourness, sweetness and spice were at a good...balance. It doesn’t feel heavy for the stomach. Good for my late dinner. I also tasted other dishes. In general they’re ok but the taste is a bit to the sweet side. The price for a personal dish averages around 15.More
