I have been to Pappy's four times since I moved to Bakersfield 3 years ago. I find myself sitting at my table and watching the well oiled machine that is Pappy's staff. It's a small space but the management does not skimp on the number of staff scheduled for a busy shift. The place was packed and every customer was... More

The sausage patty is hot & delicious. This is the only place in Bakersfield where I've found a good bowl of grits for breakfast.

My husband and I are were leaving town after visiting our daughter and I wanted a down home breakfast. We shared the broccoli ham mushroom omelette. It was made with fresh broccoli and mushrooms. The ham was very flavorful. The meal came with a huge biscuit and gravy. I could of eaten the meal by myself but glad I shared... More

If you want chicken fried steak for breakfast, be prepared for it to come on its own plate. Small town coffee shop meets the big city with oil field memorabilia from Bakersfield and Kern County. Great food at low prices that you would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

We love Gilmore Girls and so my daughters and I went here to get the coffee with the Luke's logo. We decided to stay for breakfast and I'm so glad we did. The girls got the chocolate chip pancakes and waffles and I got an omelette. Everything was so good and fresh tasting. Nothing was greasy. They were also giving... More

Used to go to Pappy's a while back then moved out of town. Now that I've moved back I'm trying my old friends again. Pappy's is a Rosedale fixture. If you don't get there before 9 on the weekends there's a huge crowd waiting on the front are (iron gates). It goes fast but I have no patience. The food... More

I have ate there twice now for breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak, white gravy, eggs, hash browns, toast ETC (pictured). My second visit, I got the chili verde omelet both were excellent. The service was also excellent. The portions are very large and very good and I will be back.

Depending on my mood, I either eat sausage and pancakes or I eat a chili size. I can eat either for breakfast or either for lunch. Both are the best in Bakersfield

Enjoyed our time at Pappy's. They had several large parties, 8+ people, full of caps and gowns. Happy employees, good food and great local scene.

Came here for breakfast with my family. When we arrived they told us it would be about 20 minutes but it ended up being an hour. When we got seated we had to wait another 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. The waitress was nice but maybe it was just too busy. It took a really... More
