A very inexpensive cafe just steps from the main plaza in Cajamarca. They have a wide range of dishes available as well as a daily lunch menu, which is typically a 3 course meal with an included fruit juice at unbeatable prices. Order a tea or a herbal infusion to enjoy their quaint earthenware teapots and cups!

I was surprised at the portion and price of the meals. I had tenderloin steak for around $6.50 and it was well done, soft, and tasty with the black pepper sauce. The seating is pleasant with plenty of room. At some tables you can see the chefs preparing the meat and fixings and the oven in the background. Wait staff... More

The restaurant is located near the Plaza de Armas, next to the room (cuarto del rescate) where the Inca leader Atahualpa Yupanki was confined to prison by the Spanish mercenary Pizarro. The menu plates are tasty and fairly uncommon. While most of the restaurants offer the all-purpose fried chicken or chicken soup, we had a pumpkin soup and "lomo saltado"... More

I have spend two months in Cajamarca and almost every day I went to this restaurant. The ambiance is nice, the owners are lovely and lunch is always well prepared. Even if the restaurant is fully booked, during lunch the owners will find a seat for you if you are traveling alone like me. And if not, just wait a... More

My wife, son and I were visiting Cajamarca this past September and someone recommended we definitely eat at Tuna Cafe before we leave. We were never more pleased with this small warm cozy restaurant. The customer service was great, and the natural home made foods made from scratch were absolutely spectacular. We highly urge anyone visiting Cajamarca to dine at... More

Menu only 9 sol, waitress did not speak English but the owner did and was very nice. a lot of suits in at lunch time is always a good sign. Music at a nice low volume, with out any blenders drowning out conversation proved to set a perfect ambience. Lemon chicken was a winner for my visiting mother from England,... More

Came in for dinner and tried to order the the spaghetti bolagnese and they didn't have the stuff to make it. Tried to order something else and they couldn't make that either. Went with a chicken sandwich that came out looking like something my mom would have made me when I was 6. White sandwich bread with no crust. I... More

We passed this lovely restaurant while strolling through Cajamarca and stopped there for lunch. It is warm, very welcoming and we had a very delicious lunch! Starter - Main - Dessert and a glass of Lemonada all served with a smile! The restaurant is lovely decorated and they love to cook and serve guests!
