We visited after a boat trip and were truly impressed by the quality and value for money. Monkfish scampi and mushroom stroganoff for us. Too much to eat and great quality. It is a level above a cafe and a reasonable restaurant. Only criticism: it was off putting to see the chef smoking outside during a quiet period

This is a wee bit out of the town centre, along by the harbour, so you would not necessarily wander past it - it is worth the walk (or drive). Really lovely tasting food, good portion sizes with a good variety, and all at a good price in nice surroundings. I wouldn't describe it as the name suggests as a... More

A great value unassuming café. Very busy in the afternoon, but in early evening I was the only diner at one point. The Cullen Skink was amazing - full of fish and tasted fantastic. Highly recommend for good food and friendly service.

We went on a recommendation from friends and what a delight. This is a restaurant not a cafe so don't be fooled by the name. The food is simple and wholesome, well presented and very reasonably priced. The ambience is lovely (there were red deer grazing in front of the cafe) and the service excellent. Two things to note. Nice range of savoury (local seafood, pulled pork etc) and home baking (cakes and tray bakes). Substantial, and reasonably priced.

Stayed in loch Inver over 4 days and had our meals here, food was excellent and plenty full prices were very reasonable, staff very friendly and obliging the place is spotlessly clean. There is a bunkhouse above which is well laid out and very clean ideal for those looking for somewhere to stay at reasonable rates. Definitely worth a visit.

We stopped in after finding it a bit of a struggle to find somewhere for lunch, the restaurant next door only serve food in the evening, and surprisingly the large hotel nearby only serves toasties. Thankfully An Cala have a decent selection of snacks and meals on offer. The food we ordered was all freshly cooked, decent portions and good... More

I was passing through Lochinver on NC500. I'd had a fantastic pie the day before at the Larder, see other review, and now needed breakfast. The lady was just unlocking the door as I arrived. For a full English(?). Great breakfast & coffee and as always free wifi. Deffo worth calling in for a snack/meal. Clean tidy and well presented.... More

Set back off the main road a bit behind a football pitch this is a cafe specialising in teas, coffees and cakes - lots of cakes! Some mains to be had as well but whilst there we had tea and, eh, cake. Friendly staff, clean, pleasant. Good to visit for a snack if in the area.

It was a bit puzzling to find a sign urging us "Howay In" about 7 hours drive away from where such language is common place. But having found the friendly couple who run the bunkhouse, we discovered two Geordies like ourselves far from home. Lovely cheerful cafe decorated tastefully in the Toon's trademark black and white. Beautiful cakes and great... More
