We were staying in Fahan from England for a few days and booked a table prior to arrival after doing some research. What a lovely warm and welcoming pub. 6 of us ate a variety of meals and everyone was really pleased with my Dad saying his steak was the best he has ever had. This is praise indeed as... More

Tonight's special was excellent! The lamb on flatbread, with a side of the crispy cabbage! It's new on the menu, hopefully it'll stay! We will be back.

we booked ahead knowing how popular this spot is as we had family visiting and wanted to go to a relaxed but quality place to eat. We had some special arrangements to make ( plain vegan eater and a wheelchair) and from the first phone call til the finish of our meal tonight the service and attention to detail provided... More

Hi there , Tripadvisor does make me angry at times !! 😡 The main entrance door opens at 2pm on Saturdays and is clearly marked as the entrance . The door your husband entered was the function room where a few people who were not staff were setting up for a party that day. Also ... Our Saturday staff who... More

Busy local pub/restaurant, hidden, but worth going. First of all want to say considering other reviews regarding service, that it was good. Its not a 5 star restaurant but ladies serving where friendly. Food was good even though for what you get its on the expensive side. Definitely recommend rib eye steak. My wife had t-bone and it was not... More

Our family rented a holiday home in Fahan and had been advised to visit this restaurant by a friend of my husband. Three of us went one night and were so impressed that our whole family of ten decided to have the final meal of our holiday there. We had the Early Bird Menu which was great value for money.The... When we arrived outside this restaurant, my first impression I have to admit, wasn't great, I thought, no way, this can't be it!! But as soon as we entered it, well the warmth of it was just great!! The interior is such a contrast from the outside!! The food was first class, everything from start to finish was Brillant, so... More

Description
Our restaurant is located on the shores of Lough Swilly, at Fahan, Co.Donegal, in the premises of The Railway Tavern which was formally the Station House of the Londonderry & Lough Swilly Railway Company (L&LSR)..Our Main course dishes are cooked to perfection on our wood burning Firebox Grill, just like in the old days were the engineers on the locomotives, used their firebox to heat their snacks !The Bar and Restaurant still have the old fires blazing which create a very cosy , snug room to eat or drink in ..
