A Good Couple of Evenings

In summer the restaurant is always busy with tables outside in the smaller of the two market squares. In winter you walk through an open room and the restaurant is divided into 3 or 4 rooms - it is well worth it. Our first visit was in November 21 and more recently in January 22. The atmosphere and welcome is all very good - they genuinely care you are enjoying your stay with them. The food is very good quality and they have Estrella on draught (a personal favourite). Would I go back? Yes and we did and we will in future!

Lovely lunch with friends

We stopped at this restaurant for lunch with friends and had a lovely meal. The food is traditional French with a local focus & was all tasty and well presented. The wine was good value. Service was very good with friendly, helpful staff. Would definitely recommend

Catered well for Vegans

We ate here on the last night of a 2 week trip to France and this was by far the best restaurant we ate in. Staff friendly, and busy so service took a while, but when we were served, they were extremely helpful. The food was flavoursome with great vegan options. The meal for a family of 4, including dessert and drinks was well priced. Even my husband wished he had left a bigger tip which is saying something!

Bought here by a family memb'r who works in town, not the most exciting lunch but pretty tasty, scallop tartare with avocado but no avocado in sight, asparagus instead, but fine too, steak cooked as requested, chips a little dark but nice, cafe gourmand as it should be with good coffee, friendly staff, nice beer selection, could be better but it is what it is for the cost.

Went here for lunch when perusing Sommiere's, it's right in the square so is a prime location. Think we went to the place next door that does mostly ice cream last time, but I reckon this place was better. The menu was pretty extensive and the guy serving was pretty good about explaining what everything was cos it was all in French and sometimes their names aren't very descriptive if you don't know what it is, and he was good at suggesting stuff too so well done that man. I had an excellent steak tartare cos I'm disgusting, and a great panna cotta after too, price was pretty damn reasonable too.

Smallest portion ever!

An abolute joke! Lunchtime plat de jour main course the smallest I ever been served I counted the fries(12) and 6 tiny pieces of beef in mushroom sauce you could have fitted in a matchbox! "when complaining I was told it was an expensive region! DON'T GO!

The setting of the restaurant is great and we sat in the square. The main challenge is the service - very polite but takes WAY too long. Too long to take a drinks order, deliver the drinks, get the bill etc. Even worse considering there was only another 3 tables in use. The pizza was not the best as the base is too hard and overly oily. There are other restaurants next door which we should have tried.

Bad food!!

Save yourself €50-! Do NOT go there! Food was absolutely terrible!! Meat not cooked well. Fries black & full of oil. And callamari raw.. with potatoes..!

Family and friends meal out

2nd time we have visited this restaurant in Sommieres. The food was very nice, service was good, staff very friendly and polite. Restaurant has lovely ambience with tables inside and out. Very pleasant indeed!

We have just returned from a week staying near Sommiere and ate at this restaurant three times. The food was excellent every time as was the service. We had the same waiter on each occasion and he was helpful in accomadation our requests and questions. Also a lovely place to sit in the evening with the old square all lit up. We would definitely return

Good food - limited menu

This Lebanese restaurant was quite busy when we visited during a weekday evening market. The service was good, staff pleasant, and food to a good standard. The main course options were limited to variations of chicken or beef but the set meal cost was at a reasonable 17.50 Euros. Would recommend this restaurant.

Delicious hamburgers

We choose a hamburger from the lunchtime menu followed by cafe gourmand and it was all really delicious. The Burger came with a potato rosti and fresh tomato and the meat was very tender and well flavoured. It was a good choice of mini desserts included in the coffee gourmand. There is plenty of room inside with seating in an interior courtyard if the street tables are all taken.
