We stumbled upon this busy restaurant and was given a great welcome by Thomas. We strolled around the town and decided to go back to see Thomas who explained the whole menu in English. Great starter is the veal and tuna speciality and my daughter...loved her pork and cream pasta. Very reasonable prices. Marion the owner chatted away to us for ages when she had plenty to do. Marion is front of house and husband came out to explain the dishes as he is the chef. Definitely worth a visit. 😁More

We accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around the market. The food was lovely - the beef carpaccio was excellent and my boyfriend had the veal pasta which was really tasty too. Later, the staff at our hotel also recommended Sansavino for dinner so...we obviously found a great place on our strolls!More

We were told about this restaurant by staff from our hotel in Sommieres and we were very happy that we went there. It is in the larger of the plazas in the beautiful old town and we enjoyed everything about our night there. The menu...is small with dishes changing according to what is available and fresh and in season, locally. They always have the truffle porcini dish on the menu that they are famous for. The staff were excellent and all service came with a smile and a lovely attitude no matter the language barriers. The panna cotta was the best I have ever had.More

Considering it was market evening and the restaurant is located in a very touristic spot, we were pleasantly surprised by the food

We took dinner here twice in large groups, one prebooked and one without. The latter on a Sunday when options are more limited. Have the Bathilda local white wine, fantastic and great value. It’s a short Italian menu, changing slightly each day but the creamy...pasta with sausage finished with truffle oil is regularly in offer and for good reason. Beyond that the food is less reliable but it’s great value and all served in a relaxed environment. Their tolerance, and management, of our groups was impressive. As a couple dining here I wonder if I’d want more from the experience.More

Waow what a great restaurant this was. I was very into it. It's a very authentico Italian restaurant right in a square. We booked cos there was a big party of us, and it was pretty busy on Sunday night when we went. The menu...is whatever's fresh, which is great. They had it all written down on a board, and even some of that stuff they didn't have any more, but they always had something else pretty close, and the waitresses were pretty good at shouting out the menu. I can't remember exactly what I had but it was some great pasta, followed by an affogato, and everyone I was with loved theirs too. Wasn't expensive either.More

This has been a stand-by of decent if ordinary meals for many years for us. The other evening was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life, and this place needs to stop taking itself for granted. The staff are always sweet if overworked,...but the food and service have become worse and worse. Yes, it was a Wednesday summer market evening, but we were refused a written or blackboard menu and offered a "talking menu" of 3 things. Just three things. No starter and none of the usual things on the menu. We asked and were refused. It was 9.30 pm, well within their normal service hours in the summer. The only thing that sounded appealing was the spaghetti with tomato sauce and buratta, which was as if your child made it. Sloppy and overcooked pasta with a nasty runny sauce. We had to beg for any kind of service, and our guest who had just arrived from New York was astonished that this was a meal in a French Italian restaurant. She was sad to say her meal on a discount airline was so much better! Normally this is an OK place for basic Italian, but it is not cheap, and with no choice, stay far away. We will. So sad.More

This charming rustic place in the central square of Sommieres is a well run restaurant with a tasty menu. The antipasti, the charcuterie, the spaghettini but first and foremost the penne norcia is worth a visit. We've been here for a week and it's by...far the best in the area.More
