Having visited Goblin's Cove on more than one occasion around 5 to 10 years ago, my mom and I decided to pop in while traveling through Magaliesberg yesterday. What a disappointment! We were greeted in a lackluster fashion by a waiter sitting at the restaurant entrance and led to a table in the outside seating area. What once was a... More

This once charming place has become an expensive dump. We stayed in the "Restored Train Carriage" accommodation. We could not eat at the restaurant because they are not open on a Friday night. Huh? The new owners are busy with very slow renovations, the place has a building site feel, and they are clearly not ready to host paying guests.... More

The Goblins Cove of the past was a magical place to visit. The original owner was a sculptor in cement mortar and he made a fantasy land. Unfortunately, it is not that anymore. The last time i visited I took some elderly guests. It was difficult for them to get down to the restaurant. I considered taking guests there again,... More

Booked via email. Process wasn't too bad. Illze was pretty helpful. I asked if there was anything special that they could do for my birthday. Illze arranged a gift bag for my daughter. Very sweet. However, I got another response after from a different person saying no unless I wanted to pay for a birthday and it ended there. I... More

I last visited this place about 4 years ago and it was quaint and unique but sadly this past weekend on visiting it again, I found it has become completely dilapidated. None of the tiny poky rooms you used to be able to eat in were cleaned, chairs were on the tables already and the garden completely run down and... More

My husband and I go out every Sunday with our 4 month baby. We decided to venture out into magalies and researched goblins cove. It was a great experience. The ambiance, food and set up was just awesome. The food menus is very limited but it was amazing!! It had a lovely jumping castle and jungle gym for children however... More

Once Upon a Time is a function, wedding and accommodation venue, where you can escape from the world into a playful fantasy world in the forest, where the possibilities are endless. We do fantastical weddings, have a quaint restaurant, riverside picnics and a very unique 1928 train in the forest, where you can stay over for a night
