We stopped for a light lunch. The lunch menu is comprehensive and the food was good. I had the seafood pasta, which was perfectly done. Try to avoid big crowds arriving by bus. The view is awesome.

An idyllic situation close to the water not too far from the Cape National Park. We were thankful that, The Black Marlin, is open all day (10am - 10pm) as we were hungry after our morning walking to the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Point and it was already 2pm when we arrived. The food was delicious, fresh and all... More

This is a great place for a lunch when travelling the area. Stunning views of the ocean. The food was above average but i was not blown away. The service was good but slow. They definately cater for tourist groups and we battled to get a table without booking at lunch. As soon as the tour groups left the place... More

I love seafood. I loved this restaurant. The selection of seafood dishes should satisfy most. The calamari was perfect, the platter looked very impressive, the sardines were delicious and I had the Malay Fish Curry, for something different and it was superb. All for under $50AUD for two courses and wine. Great quality and unbelievably good value.

Beautiful setting. Calamari trio the worst we've ever had. Old and chewy is an understatement. Catch of the day also under cooked. A pitty that this is the window of cuisine of South African seafood for all the overseas visitors whom have braved the standard of the lack of freshness of the seafood. Service otherwise of high standard, not supported... More

Black Marlin had been recommended to us by some people we met in Cape Town. Living inland we had mentioned our wish to have some really good seafood. Sadly, our spring rolls and chowder were very ordinary and the main courses of king clip and 'fish of the day' were overcooked and accompanied by something called 'salad' (a salad from... More

This restaurant has been there forever so I was so excited about visiting after at least 20 years. It was almost exactly the same, the outside section very attractive and must be great on a sunny day, but we went for Valentines dinner and in spite of the good ambiance the food was disappointing.

This is a good place for tourists to visit, as the food is well priced and the view is amazing - it is on the way to or from Boulders or Cape Point

Our first time in South Africa, we followed the advice in the mainstream guidebooks - and Black Marlin comes recommended. Well, the food and service are good, but be warned, expect to find several coaches parked outside. We felt as thought we were in an upmarket fast food restuarant. If that's your thing, you'll enjoy this place. If you're expecting... More
