One of the only restaurants open in the evening in the city, so default choice. The restaurant was empty, the menu didn't appeal to us that much, we had a salad and a kind of strange, tasteless couscous. The pizza also tasteless. Weird experience

Nice cafe with attentive staff. Pasta dish was really nicely cooked and my husband had the platter which was lovely and fresh. Good value for money and I was able to try the South African Malva pudding which for us Brits is a bit like syrup pud. It was yum! Place nicely done out and saw the lady making fresh pizza dough but we didn’t get chance to try again!

Sat inside at the family table by the piano, we visit once a year for their pizza.
It was again a very solid pizza, ordering 3 between us.
All were very good. Just the seafood pizza that is marketed with prawns, rather had shrimp which was disappointing.
Otherwise a great meal, with good milkshakes, and friendly service. Well recommended.

Nice enough place although it was very cold as they kept the front door open so everyone was wearing their coat inside. We came around 7pm and ordered pizzas and beer. The wait got longer and longer and we ordered more drink as the waiter said it was coming soon. 8:10 he apologised and said ours was in the oven and coming directly. 8:40 still nothing. A woman (possibly the owner?) came by and asked us if there was a problem. We said we were still waiting for food. She bustled off to check. Came back and said there’d been a problem with the oven all night and our order had been lost. We got the food just before 9:00. She said we were lucky because all the other pizzas that night had come out soggy on the base.
It would have been very easy at any point for the staff to tell us there was a problem with the pizza oven, then we would have simple ordered something else. The pizza was okay, nothing special particularly after so long. When we got the bill the waiter asked us three times if we would tip. We don’t like to penalise wait staff, but no way could we tip after all that. The restaurant already got us to pay a higher bill as we ordered more drinks because of the excessive wait. Any restaurant can have a problem, it’s how they handle it that counts.

Kicking any establishment in these difficult times is horrid but so to is a place so bad at service and appreciation it deserves to be shaken up or shut down. My third visit here. Literally playing Search the waiter whilst the owner is on her mobile and I’m the ONLY customer in the place. The pizza cooks who clearly see you are looking for help, don’t. I’ve asked them about this before. “I’m not a waiter” was the reply. Clearly not but you might know where he is!
Beside the name there is little Italian about the place. I guess if you have 5 pasta dishes and sell pizza you can say your an Italian Restaurant even if your SPECIAL is burger with chips! Decor NOT Italian, music NOT Italian. Most of the menu…… you get my drift.

Don’t let the rustic appearance of this restaurant fool you. The food is excellent! Had two pizzas here - both were freshly made and tasted delicious. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are top notch. The gentlemen who served us was one of the friendliest and most appreciative we have come across during our time in the Cape. Yes, the bathrooms and decor are tired, but that just adds to the experience. Highly recommend this place.

Our food arrived about 10 minutes apart - I'd basically finished mine by the time my partner's food arrived. The variety of food wasn't that great and the calamari wasn't good. The malva pudding and chicken salad were divine, though, and the waiter was friendly.

We went there late in the eavening on a weekday without any hope of being served. We ordered pizzas. They were very good thin-based. The writers were also good and the service was fast. We'll be going back as we saw plenty of other dishes being served to other customers that liked delicious.

This was a nice place. It was chilled out, seemed like a locals’ favourite, played nice music, and the service was great (one of our dishes was a little delayed and the waiter was very courteous in the way he kept us informed). Also I had this Cape Malay seafood curry in a pot that was like a magician’s hat. It seemed to contain endless seafood and sauce. Which was good news because it was so nice.

Dropped in for a late lunch with 2 busy youngsters. They were very safety aware, providing hand sanitizer upon entry. We ordered our pizza with monkey sauce! (No monkey parts involved) and fries. What a surprise when our waitress brought each child a plastic tray with plastic cutters and a ball of fresh pizza dough with flour! Quite messy, but the children were very entertained and took their pizza dough home to be entertained later! Food came quickly, was hot and just as expected if not better! Would definately recommend!

After being in Simons Town for a bit my girlfriend and I were delighted to come here. It's an unpretentious laid back restaurant with great value for money especially considering all the tourist traps found in this area. The pizza was great (opinion of a born and bred new yorker), however, the other dishes lacked the effort and flavour presented in the pizza. Would definitely come back here again, but would stick to the pizza!

Went for lunch with friends today and very disappointed. Table ordered 2 pizza and 1 Seafood pasta. Pizza’s were ok. Pasta was swimming in watery sauce. Daughter said it was not nice at all and did not finish half the dish. 2 hours later she is sick in bed with running tummy and vomiting. Local said not surprised daughter sick after eating there.

Good fish, pizza, and pasta. Their serving sizes were quite large as well. The service was good, with friendly staff. The decor was oddly, being penguin themed and containing vintage photos.

A litttle lacking in atmosphere on the Thursday evening we visited. However, the pizza was very unexpectedly awesome. Super thin base, not too much cheese, and great flavour.
