About
A cozy restaurant in a historic house built before the 1900s. The house is located by the charming Grotta lighthouse with a surrounding nature reserve. Visiting Ráðagerði is like coming to the countryside, even though the place is only a 6 minutes drive from the city center. The view from the restaurant is incredibly unique. Surrounded by the sea and volcanic mountains in every direction. Ráðagerði has a varied menu that draws its inspiration from the simplicity of Italian cuisine. Every weekend and on holidays in Iceland we serve our brunch menu. For more information check out our website radagerdi.is.

Popped by for a coffee after visiting Grotta Lighthouse. Ended up with two sharing platters and a couple of cold ones. Service and food was both 10/10, and the atmosphere was the kind of chill and inviting that makes you want to stay for a couple of cold ones more 😇

We booked around 9am and secured brunch tables for 4 and 2 people as a booking for 6 at 11am was not available. The waitress put two tables together in the best spot..which was amazing. The menu was smallish, but wow...the food was incredible!!! Based mainly around home made Turkish bread variations (accompanying most dishes)..including as a breakfast pizza dough..each dish was so well thought out. Presentation of food was colourful, fresh and extremely modern and impressive and our whole table were over the moon with every menu selection. The building itself is a very cute homely building and quite isolated..out close to the very tip of Reykjavík's small Western peninsula in an area called Grótta, by a picturesque lighthouse and beach. Prepare yourself for a very relaxed and extraordinary brunch experience. Looking forward to heading back for a second meal very soon..or to try the dinner menu that looks amazing too! Treat yourself ;)

We absolutely loved dining here. The location was so lovely with the wind blowing and the waves crashing. Such a charming farmhouse located an easy 10 drive from downtown Reykjavik. The service was excellent, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We had reservation and were seated right away. It appeared to be all locals dining here and not overcrowded with tourists. The menu offers simple, lovely choices. We had the best pizza and caprese salad. All the dishes served around us looked amazing. The different bruschetta appetizers looked so delicious. The food was not pretentious or expensive which you might expect at such a unique location. A highlight of our trip!

This a restaurant recommended by our local islandic friend. We got here at 3.15 pm and got a brunch menu. We were a bit in a rush so when the server took the order from a table coming later than us we went to them to order. It was past 3.30 pm I guess. Then we’ve been told that the brunch is no longer served and got a menu with dishes which for itself wasn’t bad. We ordered and waited till past 4 pm and then a nice lady came asking if we’ve ordered. We showed her what we ordered only been told that main dishes are not available before 4 pm but only pizzas and focaccia. She was very nice and helpful to check in the kitchen and came back with the good news that the chef could prepare for us. We were really starving by then and finally got our food by 4.25 pm (one hour later). Good side of thing since I’m a positive person, the food is good. Bread is really really good. It is a bit mixed feeling that I write the comments. Overall, the restaurant is good if you are not in rush and know how the menu system works, meaning brunch only till 3.30pm, from 3.30-4pm only pizzas and focaccia, main dishes available after 4pm.

We were in Reykjavik for a couple of days, rented a car and did our best to capture as much as we could of this embracing island. By late afternoon on the second day we had lost track of time. Absolutely famished we happened upon Radagerdi as we drove pas the Grotta lighthouse on the edge of Reykjavik to our great fortune. Although it is noted as offering an Italian inspired menu it was so much more than that. Our waiter, having recently become a new father, enthusiastically encouraged us to sample some of the goodies he was sure we would love. Right he was- we ordered 6 starters, a bottle of wine and proceeded to utterly devour every tiny morsel. Huge kudos to all. Thank you Thank you

We came here for our final evening in Iceland having stopped by for a lunchtime drink at the start of our holiday. The location is beautiful. We were fortunate enough to be there on a dry sunny evening so we could enjoy the fine views. The customer service is warm and friendly and everyone one in our group enjoyed their meal. The bread was delicious!

We decided to try this place for a nice dinner out, away from the center of Reykjavik. This restaurant was absolutely amazing. The salted cod was the best fish meal we ever had and the meatball and onion pizza was wonderful. The pizza is enough for two people. Our server was attentive and friendly.

We were five people togather. Beautiful siteseeing, cleen and nice but very cold insite. The food was nice we all thought. The service was terrible, nobody came to take order and after an half our one of us went and asked them to come to the table and take orders for wine. We didn't have to wate long for the food after at last we got to make the order but we were never asked again if we wanted more to drink,

I really recommend this place. Its so special. The food is really good and the house is so cozy! The view from every window is different and sooo beautiful! I have been to this place many times over the last year and I can truly say that so far everything I have tried has been so delicious. As a local I would say this place is a must visit for tourists traveling in the capital area.

If your someone who HATES good food, great service or magical scenery this is NOT the place for you! But if you are like MOST other people and enjoy those things this is a must visit place. PS. Ráðagerði is also in the best place for viewing the northern lights or amazing sunsets in the city!

Really recommend this place. I live close by so I have been there many times. The food is great. Their wood-fired pizzas are in my opinion the best in town. I truly recommend. I can also recommend the brunch in the weekends. Try the shakshuka! But this place is much more than just a cozy restaurant with great food. The surroundings are truly unique! In the summer there is no better place to enjoy the sunset and in the winter the area is perfect to watch the northern lights.

Me and my husband went to this place for lunch. We ordered pizza. I had "halfmoon" pizza with ham and mushroom. It was so delicious. The pizza is quite big so I got a box to take the rest home. I will deffenantly go there again to try other dishes.

The best takeaway I have ever had, didn’t want it to end! The meatballs were perfect, and the pizza was even better. Great service, so fast and such friendly staff!
