Truly a gem...simple and practical. The model works and it's very good. They meet the mark on all fronts. Service was top notch, food was just as top notch. I usually don't eat dessert but thought I should try since the meal was great! I...wasn't disappointed at all. If you are close by you should definitely add this to your list.More

It's been several years since we have been here. We went on Father's Day and had reservations, glad we did. When we left it was at least an hour wait. We arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately. Bean soup came and...drinks were ordered. As we finished our soup, which was not impressive looking but very good, the food started coming. Service was 5 star, even though the place was packed. Chicken was great, sides very good. Overall a great deal, will definitely be back sooner then this time.More
Thank you for the 5 star review!
We ate here a number of years ago and were finally in a location where we were able to make a return visit. Reservations were made at the earliest opening time and the place was already PACKED and food being sent to tables in endless...waves. We were seated immediately and served bean broth. Tasty, but I had ordered my drink already. The rest of the meal was good, but lacked some flavor. Service was good and fast. We were in and out in about 45 minutes and left happy and full.More
Thanks for the great review!
I really wanted to like Monte Ne but came away a bit disillusioned. The long history appealed to me and still does but I just can’t get by the food. The apple butter and the bread was excellent but everything else was questionable. As far...as the sides…the slaw and potatoes were ok but everything else was sub par and very bland. Now the chicken was an enigma…..the legs and thighs were recognizable but none of the white meat was butchered as normal. Got these tiny and weird little pieces including a couple of pieces with no bone. Alas… the flavor was good but what I really wanted was a normal looking chicken breast. However, they were packed and I hope they remain so because I love these kind of historic places.More
Thanks for giving us a try! The “tiny weird pieces” you are referring to are called chicken keels. A keel is the center of a chicken breast. Rather than split the breast in half down the middle of the breast bone, it is cut on...More
I had heard for years about the monte inn, how great the food is especially the chicken. I’m sorry but I was not impressed at all! The bean soup was tasty but I was expecting beans too. Our server was Wonderful. Very personable and was...pretty quick with drink refills. The bread they give you was pretty tough and not warm. The butter was nice and apple butter was Wonderful. I was So disappointed In the sides. The corn tasted like right out of the can so did the green beans. No seasoning or salt etc. bland and Luke warm. The mashed potatoes were ok. Gravy was pretty bland. Cole slaw was ok. The famous chicken was not good! Soggy coating and little pieces. I’ve had way better from Popeyes and even Harps. For $14 a person I’d expect way better food!More
Thanks for giving us a try Rachel. I’m there nightly . If you ever have an issue with food or service, let me know. I’ll make it right!
I was a little disappointed with all the hype surrounding this place. The good: plenty of parking, staff was friendly, corn, green beans, bread and apple butter were all tasty. The ok: mashed potatoes had an odd taste, chicken was just ok as it is...supposed to be the star dish and the bean soup was good but I expected more than just a broth style soup.More
Thanks for giving us a try!
I've never been to a restaurant where there is only a set menu, but it works great here! It was extremely busy the night we were there and the staff were really moving. I was very impressed with them and most of the food. The...gravy could have used some more seasoning, but I loved that cole slaw and the chicken!More
Thank you for the great review! Hope to see you again soon!
Love eating at Monte Ne! Great fried chicken and sides! Took friends from out of town on May 30 and were a little disappointed. Service was slow and no cobbler available. Maybe it was just the holiday weekend? We still had a great time and...food was excellent ! Will go again.More
Thanks for visiting us again. We were a little short handed Memorial weekend. That’s always a busy time for us. Our cobblers are made fresh daily. We only have enough for the day. If there’s ever an issue with your food or service, please let...More

Thank you for the 5 star review! We appreciate you.
Monte Ne Inn staff did a good job with their socially-distanced setup during Coronavirus and provided great/friendly service. Loved the Fried Chicken, the Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Coleslaw (very good) and enjoyed everything else.
Thank you for the great review. This year has been trying for small businesses. We are doing the best we can. We truly appreciate your support.
Grew up in SEK eating fried chicken all the time, this is best fried chicken outside of SEK I’ve eaten. The apple butter and bread made for a great dessert. All you can eat, come hungry and you will leave very happy.
Thank you for the great review! We appreciate you. Next time, save room for the cobblers. They are recipes from Dave’s mom. The peach cobbler is my personal favorite!!
Went to Ne Inn Monte, Sunday afternoon. Not very busy, seated quickly, friendly staff. received our soup bowl and plate. Bean Soup arrived shortly after, dished Janice up some soup, she aksed for some of the beans, there were none, maybe should be called Bean...Broth. Food arrived, looked very good Corn no seasoning, Mashed Potatoes no seasoning Coleslaw, didn't try Gravy ok Green Beans, hint of seasoning Fried Chicken no flavor, at least it was not greasy Bread good DisappointedMore
Thanks for taking time to review our restaurant. Sorry we didn’t meet your expectations. Thanks for giving us a try!
The food is great, the atmosphere is very family. We have been coming for years and love bringing my 97 year old Grandmother here. All you can eat fried chicken and sides, such a reasonable price, how can you go wrong?
Thank you for the 5 star review Rachel! We love that you are making memories with your grandmother here. That’s what it’s all about!
First time there and we were impressed. Everything was good, chicken was hot not greasy. Sides were good, Staff never let you run out of anything, awesome family style meal. Will be back.
