We've passed by this place a lot and always say we need to eat here sometime. I wish we would have stopped sooner we've missed many good meals by not. Everything was delicious and the service good and friendly.

How about a plate of fried catfish served with bowls of coleslaw, pickle relish, beans, and hushpuppys. If you want more coleslaw, etc., just ask. Great service and good food are a good mix for a pleasant meal!

I can say this little restaurant in a small town(Prattsville) in central Arkansas IS the BEST OF THE Best for catfish!! Their catfish pieces are crispy(not heavy) and fresh tasting. Their catfish dinners set-ups include: pickled tomatoes and beans and coleslaw and hush puppies--all very good. If you like catfish that is fresh and nicely crispy-->Try the Whippet

We stopped off on a whim on our way to Hot Springs and didn't regret the decision. The friendly staff welcomed us through the door, and being from the UK we weren't sure what to order so they helped us choose their favourite dishes and gave us a selection of BBQ brisket, catfish, hush-puppies, beans, malts and sweet tea. After... More

We came across this place on our road trip and I am so glad we stopped here because we had the best diner food here on our two week road trip. We tried the pulled brisket, coleslaw, beans, fried pies and catfish, malts etc which were all super tasty and the staff was so lovely. What a great place and... More

My family has been driving from Little Rock to Prattsville to enjoy the best Catfish, Fixin's and other great menu items since the 1990's. I live in Florida now and I still make sure to plan a visit to Whippet's when I am in the state. They have the best servers and it's just an all around good ol' catfish... More

We are from Iowa and anytime we are in the area --I make sure I time our lunch break to be in close proximity to the Whippet! The catfish is the best. And the set-up of pickled tomatoes and slaw and onion and hush puppies and pinto beans are great sides for the fish. The Whippet is in Prattsville which... More

We drove from Little Rock to eat at The Whippet because of the rating on Trip Advisor and recommendations from others. We were not disappointed. The catfish was excellent as well as the beans, slaw, tomato relish, and hushpuppies. Service was fast and friendly. This is off the beaten path in the small town of Prattsville but well worth the... We eat here about once a month. The waitresses are always awesome and the fish and set-up is the best. Always order one piece less than you really expect because they give you three pieces when you order a two piece, four pieces when you order a three. The "set-up" of slaw, beans, tomato relish and hush puppies is wonderful.... More

Been eating here for over 20 years, but looking at some of the clientele, 20 years ain't that long! I am still considered a fairly new customer. Sure the fish is good. You order a 2 piece, they give you 3, order a 3, you get 4 and so on. My wife loves the fixins that come with it. But... More
