Exquisite Experience

I chose the word "exquisite" carefully. The attention to detail in this multi- course meal was equivalent to any great restaurant in Chicago nearby. Every course had excellence through and through. This was a 2 hour meal to exult in. The ambiance, first, is extraordinary at Christmas. Decor is handled with as much care as food. You just don't want to leave. Think warm cozy Paris bistro. Ok, you're there now! The soup course included lobster bisque and a simply outstanding warm creamy pumpkin soup, as well as the expected French onion. Oohs and aahs all around. The salads were popping fresh, mine with crisp greens, fresh veggies and unusual pear slices with champagne vinaigrette. I asked for pork bacon in place of duck breast which took it over the top. Entrées included beef Bourgogne, halibut w mango salsa and sauce and a crepe dish. My pork tenderloin with Dijon creme fraiche was perfect, tender and juicy w French green beans and literally frites perfected. Desserts were on an even higher plane, with fresh hot beignets, crepe dishes and cappacinos which even had gold flecks on top. Even the fruit garni on the plates were bursting fresh and flavorful as well as beautiful. On a cold December Chicagoland day, pretty amazing. This was a high end meal with a high end ticket, to be sure, but served with quiet elegance by Christina in an atmosphere that was casually elegant. And to think all of this in a suburban strip mall building. Go! Relax! Enjoy! This is about as good as it gets friends! Highly recommended! Highest rating. Attention to detail through and through.

Great choice for takeout, too.

We’re longtime fans of this restaurant and would likely have dined here for Mother’s Day, but there’s this Coronavirus thing going on. So we tried curbside pickup and honestly the crepes and desserts were every bit as good as inside dining. French beet salad was terrific as ever. Placing phone orders was easy and entrees were hot and ready on time. Only thing missing was the Eiffel Tower dresses. Vive la Crepe Bistro.

Wonderful for Lunch

Delightful lunch - we were greeted at the entrance by our server Kristina, who was helpful in explaining the menu items and efficiently meeting our needs during lunch. The lobster bisque was rich snd creamy. The smoked salmon crepe was delicious with a side garnish of crème fraîche and capers. I was happy to see that this restaurant survived during COVID - the ambiance and menu offerings remain high quality. Reservations recommended.

After going there every week for over a year, I am done!

The owner does not believe in accommodating her guests and she also acts as if she doesn't need your business. I called there recently to order soup to go and was told they were too busy to take the order, and I was told to call back in an hour or two. I called back and they did not answer at 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon. Funny thing was, My sister-in-law was in there and said it was not that busy at 3:30. The wait staff used to be so friendly. They couldn't do enough to keep you happy. I think they are terrified of the owner and don't believe they should try to make the customers happy with their dining experience. Also, the food has become very inconsistent. You can't dare tell them, because they will never send it back, even if it is just toot cold. For what they charge, they should try to please their customers. I miss the old La Crepe. What a shame.

We've often dined here and hosted my 70th birthday dinner for 15 here. Elegant and delicious meals. Kind and efficient service. We highly recommend LaCrepe ... for lunch too.

Love this place

The atmosphere, food, and waitstaff combine to make an outstanding experience. I usually skip appetizers to save room for dessert as the main dishes are quite generous. The food was piping hot and super fresh. Nice place for a fancy dinner or a casual lunch.

Dinner at La Crepe Bistro

Had visited a few times before pandemic. Food and service was very good. Decided to have dinner again at the Bistro. We ordered two appetizers, 2 salads and 4 mains. The pate and octopus were very good. Similarly for the farmers market and beet salads. The pork tenderloin was good. The Chilean sea bass was good and also the gluten free seafood crepe. The lamb shank was a big disappointment. The meat did not have much flavor and was overpowered by an exceedingly salty coating of sauce and carrots. Service was very good except for when when we complained about the highly salty dish, the server/ hostess just said sorry but no offer to replace the dish or other. Consequently, my tip was lower than usual at slightly less than 15%. She was not pleased with no thank you nor receipt for the credit card charge.

So great! Best place ever!

The place is beautiful clean and welcoming. We were greeted immediately by a beautiful woman the owner. She was excellent and helpful in ordering! We started with a bottle of Rose! Excellent! Then ordered the crab cakes, beet salad, and beef borb. crepe! They were fantastic! Then we finished with chicken Kiev! Wonderful! Fish stew with muscles and potatoes and more was delicious!! Dessert was chocolate mousse cake and ricotta and pistachio crepes! Sooo good!! Cup Puccini and fresh coffee so fresh! Everything quality here! Fresh and great attention and attitude to detail! Bread and butter so tasty. Server was so kind and pleasant. She was the owner and checked in frequently! The chef was attentive and waved and said hello! There was a young server who was so beautiful and sweet! This is a family affair! We watched the whole staff gather for champagne and food tasting before the dinner rush. The place is beautiful? But the atmosphere was so inviting and encouraged us to linger over coffee and dessert! Such a great experience! We will be back soon and frequently as this is our new favorite restaurant! Fabulous food!

La Crepe Bistro is our go-to place for fabulous food, wonderful service, and a lovely experience! We've been coming here for several years for both lunches and dinners, and we've never had a bad meal. The food is consistently savory, and the service can't be beat. Crepes are out of this world! My partner will only come here for the Steak Frittes - perfect every time!

Delicious with attitude

My recent experience is consistent with many prior reviewers. The meal itself was exceptional. Four of us each tried something different and we all agreed the quality and presentation was terrific. Not one review is negative regarding the food. The issue is the attitude of the staff, it’s almost like they play the role of French arrogance. They seemed dismissive at times and a pretense of superiority. Still would recommend because the food is that good and deserves to be shared. Would’ve been a 5 star is customers were more appreciated.

An Excellent Restaurant!

This is my wife and I's favorite restaurant. We've been going here for many years and we are never disappointed. The decor is nice, the wait staff is attentive, and the food excellent.

Beautiful restaurant with glorious menu and staff!

The restaurant is beautiful, the service is marvelous, and the menu is amazing! I had lunch at the restaurant today; a birthday surprise from my sister! The ambience, meal and service were meticulous. A wonderful restaurant to experience in every way!

Took daughter here for her b-day. Service was very good and the food was delicious. Had been here a few times before and were always pleased and enjoyed everything. For me, the crepes were just ok but everything else was great. Recommend for anyone.

Lovely venue and authentic French cooking

Our group had a lovely dinner here and all raved about their selections. I was a little disappointed in mine as it did not meet my expectations. However the dessert more than made up for it.
