We went here for dinner wanting to try traditional Chilean pit cooking- and that's exactly what we got! Our Spanish is terrible and the staff spoke little English but we just picked a few things of the menu. The salmon was perfection! Didn't love the mussels or steak but we enjoyed trying all the local restated potatoes. We ordered quite... More

This place is worth a visit if you do not have any other place to go Goods: The variety in drinks (pisco sour with different fruits), and the cooking of the Curanto (which you can see if you arrive early). However, the food and drinks were not good (neither bad to be honest). Moreover, in my case, I order tuna... More

We arrived to this place mainly because the good rating it has in Tripadviser. The food was just ok, nothing new or really tasty. I will not recommend this place and in top of that, it is expensive! Service was perfect. Llegamos a este lugar únicamente por su puntuación en Tripadvisor. La comida es ok, pero nada nuevo ni particularmente... More

This place is absolutely amazing! The food is incredibly tasty, the berry pisco sours were delicious and the service could not be better. We arrived around 1 pm and everyone was sitting around the "fogón" watching how the curanto is made. The host gave us a very detailed history of the dish and the island (better than any museum!) and... More

The food is pretty good, but the very friendly staff make it even better. The best place to eat in the whole Chile!

Back from the "Pinguin Islands" at Puñihuil (about 20 km. from Ancud), we were recommended to eat at "Mesón Chilote", a nice and popular restaurant located very close to Ancud. The food was very tasty, large portions and the service very good. The best part was the nice music and songs performed by a single performed accompanied by a guitar,... More

I was there with my family recently. Luis was an excellent host. He knows a lot about Chiloe island history. Everything there was fine: food, service, beverages. It's a small place so a suggestion make a reservation before be there.

We are chileans and we have eaten good seafood before, but this "picada" surpassed our expectations. Amazing atmosphere, very traditional, simple, with great food and huge dishes. Very fresh seafood and fish. Excellent staff, very friendly. The prices as well are very reasonable. You'll be glad you came here amd they'll not allow you to leave if there is more... More

Genuine Curanto cooked al hoyo, i.e. in a hole in the ground, with warm stones. Everything steam cooked, with the water from the seafood... Fantastic! Go at 12 am to see hoy it is prepared, and listen to the story of this plate, and of Chiloé (which used to be called Chilhue...)
