Wacamole has changed ownership in 2020. Now managed by owner/operator Ulysses.
We went to Wacamole at 7:15, group of 11 (6adults, 5 children) and were seated at 7:30.
Ulysses took our drink/apps order and brought it out at 8:00PM.
At 8:10, we called him to...order dinner and he said the kitchen is closed as restaurant cannot serve food past 9:00 (Covid curfew rules).
But he never told us when we arrived about the kitchen closing at 8:10 nor did he inform us at 7:30 when seating us to place dinner order.
We were simply flabbergasted by his incompetence and we had children who were hungry and we had to leave the restaurant without food.
All this while waitresses were busy serving food to other tables to guests who had arrived after us.
I would not even give them 1-star (that’s the lowest).More

We stopped for a few beers and some great fish tacos. Service and food were both good. Place was busy when we were there and I always take that as a good sign. Apparently they have live music but not on the day we visited.
Arrived 4:45pm was told they opened at 5:00pm. We walked next door and had a great drink and went back at 5:15pm. There was a table of people sitting down to eat and we were told again by the lady at the front that they...were NOT open, while basically running away from us. It was myself, husband and 11 month old baby and my parents. We honestly think it was because we had a baby with us that we were refused a table. There was only one table with people and the rest were empty? Therefore we couldn’t tell you how good the food was or anything but thought it was important to tell other people the type of treatment we received. Went to a wonderful Indian restaurant after and had an amazing meal so I guess it all worked out but it was shocking!!More
3 small batter fried fish street tacos, 3 small chicken street tacos, Diet Coke = US$17.00.
The fish tacos were doughy and flavorless. Chicken was average. Service was typical DR, no complaints. I won’t be returning.
Was walking back from beach and had seen this place on trip advisor so stopped in for a few drinks and lunch was great service good food and price was cheap went back again a few days later for lunch again place was fairly busy...but still got great serviceMore

I would definitely be comfortable at this specific location if I came alone as long as I was getting dropped off. There’s another bar right next door that seemed a little too wild and depending on which direction you’re coming from theres some sort of alleyways that you’ll need to pass a few blocks down. I would not recommend walking alone at night.

I think it’s about a 10 min car ride or a 45 min walk on the beach but u might want to ask someone at your hotel to confirm. It does get quite busy on Wednesday nights because of the entertainment & parking is very limited so keep that in mind when going. A cab would be a good option
