Lovely view from the pub and we got a nice table. Shame the music was far too loud we couldn’t hear each other speak as well as there being live music playing along with the speaker music. Drinks came quickly, but we were waiting far too long for our steaks to arrive (50 minutes…) it was only once I had asked where our meals were that they came out 5 minutes after. And the waiter told us that because it is fillet steak it takes a while to cook. I have never known medium steaks to take 50/55 minutes to cook. Each part of the meal came out separate - peppercorn sauce and chips were a few minutes after our steaks arrived on the table, and they also never brought out our peas either. Waiters were pretty much none existent to see you if needed another drink or check your meal is ok. It’s a petty as it’s a pretty place.

Discovered it was Burger night and chose interesting mixtures of flavours which turned out to be excellent. However, the poor girl behind the bar was expected to serve drinks to a large crowd of people and also take orders for food. We had to wait far too long before our order was taken.

Two of us nipped in after hearing some good reviews . It was not very busy only another table but waitress said it gets very busy on a Thursday night because of the pie night {hundreds of different pies on the blackboard a fantastic choice ). We both enjoyed our meals i had the Chipotle chicken & i ordered a separate stilton sauce this was very nice & would definitely have it with a steak on our next visit .{ Tuesday night ... steak night }. My Husband had the pork meal & really enjoyed that it was served with peppers & onions & had a nice flavour. The inside was cottage like & we both thought it to be lovely ,would like to go when a little busier for the atmosphere but still enjoyed it.

Absolutely disgusting. We visited on a sunday and we had a limited time to eat our meals, which actually sounds good because we then knew the pub was busy for food. We ordered 5 sunday dinners, and a childs chicken nuggets, as there was no childs Sunday dinner available. Our adult meals came out first, unusual, and all of them where cold, my one year olds came out last and to my suprise, was actually hot, I asked for some plastic cutlery, to which she had none and brought out regular cutlery, for a one year old. We had 2 small bowls of veg between 5 of us, it would of served one per person. The bowls of veg were very hot, but we had no warning from the waitress and my friend actually burn herself. Burnt Yorkshire puddings, stone cold mash and some very weird looking beef. I have worked in the catering business for some years and I have never once seen beef that looked like that. We had lipstick marks on our glasses and the toilets were disgusting, there was baby changing facilities, that were black and needed a very good bleaching, or better, putting straight in the bin. There was so many cobwebs it was like walking into the best dressed halloween party ever, it seriously doesnt take much to do a bit of de-cobwebing. On the plus side, the staff were nice and didn't charge for one of the meals. But I really do suggest that this establishment either gets a cleaner, or a new one. And a chef that can send out hot meals that dont look like I will spend the rest of the next day on the toilet, or in hospital.

First of all I’d like to thank you visiting us for a meal here at the Tiger. Obviously it is a shock and disappointment to read that your experience wasn’t a pleasant one on this occasion, as you can see from previous reviews and from visiting us on a busy Sunday afternoon this isn’t how things usually operate here at the Tiger Inn. With us serving dinners in the hundreds on a regular basis, we are deeply sorry that you felt that your meals weren’t to our usual high standards because we pride ourselves on making sure they consistently are. We do strive to ensure that any issues that are raised can be resolved as soon as possible and I imagine this is the same for yourself working in the catering trade. We always aim to rectify any problems in every way possible and I know Ellie did this on this occasion and brought you more vegetables on request and members of the party expressed that they were nice. We are always happy to supply extra vegetables, potatoes or any other food you may feel you need more of. Ellie did raise your concerns and I spoke to the chefs on duty and they were as sorry as I am now and confused to how these uncommon mistakes happened with your dinners and no others. This being the reason I personally met your table at the bar to pay and hear your concerns but again no concerns were raised. I said I’d taken the only beef dinner off and expressed our apology and the gentleman replied “it’s just one of those things”. As you know in this business feed back is the key and we will always try our best to turn any negative experiences into positives ones, something if expressed early enough we can do on the day. But we will take all your points on board and certainly rectify all those possible. I must express the comment regarding the chef and food is uncalled for as he can’t control the quality of meat from the butcher. We take every measure possible to ensure our food is safe and like everyone here work extremely hard to make everyone’s visit enjoyable. If you’d like to discuss further please email me on thetigerinn@hotmail.co.uk

Went for a pre-ordered meal arrived on time and was kept waiting for 25 minutes in a large tent. Noticed that a table was vacated and no cleaning down undertaken. Was twice asked to go into the pub to order a drink with no waitress service in the tent. In the pub there was always a queue since there was only one person serving and social distancing was rarely observed. At no time was I required to leave contact details and the so-called one way system was regularly ignored by drinkers. The food was adequate but very small portions. My salad portion was pathetic with half a cherry tomato amid some green leaves. Very disappointing. Will not return.

Visited today with family, the food was lovely, however the service was shocking. Food came out at different times and we ordered 3 portions of onion rings which all came in one large bowl and then 3 burgers and 2 fish and chips which the chef put the chips all together and never told us. The “fish and chips” is classed as a meal and on the menu the burger specifically says “comes with chips and salad” however was not presented like this. The cutlery also came out after the food so we then had to wait to eat. The waiters did not clear the table after our first round of drinks and continued to bring out the glasses for our second round and left the first ones there.

Thank you for taking the time to review us after your visit here at the Tiger. Although this review didn’t meet our high standards we hope you will give us another chance in the future. We are sorry the issues regarding bringing the chips and onion rings the way we did caused problems, we serve this way to present the food on the plate and make room for the amount of chips people feel comfortable with on their plate. There is nobody that feels more sorry than us for us letting you down on this occasion. Regarding the delivery of meals we are still coming to grips with coinciding outside service and with inside after reopening with all the new procedures. We will take all your points on board to make us better and would love the chance to make it up to you and discuss further so if you could email us on thetigerinn@hotmail.co.uk we can take it from there ❤️🐅

Visited on Friday and could not recommend enough. The food was good, the thought behing implementing all the new requirements was thorough and the team there were extremely welcoming, helpful and accomodating. The pub has obviously also done (and are still doing) a lot to support the local community during this challenging time so really important that they get support back.

Me and 4 others had a table booked for 6pm. We’d come with friends whom we had recommended for previously great food and service. Unfortunately on this occasion we were let down. It took 20 minutes just to receive a menu which had to ask for.. our starters were lovely but did take an hour to come out. Our mains took another 45 mins to receive our mains, one fillet steak had a long hair.. we notified staff and they did offer to make a fresh one, but by the time this had been bought out the others on our table had finished their food. The food we did receive was lovely just generally underwhelmed by service we had received especially after recommending the tiger inn to friends. Wouldn’t hurt your staff to have a smile and a warm welcome, they were not very attentive at all.

Wow!! The selection of Pies on a Thursday Night is incredible. You must book as the restaurant is full by 7pm. Good service and the most delicious pies at a very reasonable price, see photos Highly recommended

I went to the Tiger for my birthday with my wife. We sat outside near a few other couples. Food wasn’t bad but took ages on a late Saturday afternoon no more than ten in Staff cocked up three couples orders giving wrong dishes to tables and didn’t prioritise who arrived first. People we’re fuming. Young teenagers are running this place. I went to pay at the main till and the young lad just told me what I owed him aloud, no bill. I nearly punched his lights out. I did get a bill, paid and left. The interior decor is at best tired. Foods okay but that’s it, we won’t be back.

We last came to this pub about 10 years ago and although we only lived in Belper, it had slipped off our radar. We visited today though and the food was amazing - will definitely be our go to place for food. We had Sunday roasts, a burger and gammon between us and all were really good. There was a choice of four different meats for the roast and came with mashed potato, roast potato, roast parsnip, stuffing, pig in blanket, cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire, and a pile of other veg - and all for just £10.95! Great value, good service - my partner thought it was the best burger he’d ever had. We will definitely be back to try pie night!

Family were raving about this place, so we returned with them a few weeks later. My Husband’s mixed grill was overdone, apart from the gammon and the waitress announced that there was no sour cream for my Chile Con Carne. But she didn’t tell me that until she served it, instead of informing me, so I had an opportunity to pick another dish. I wish now that I had sent it back, because it would teach the management of this establishment that if they haven’t got a complete dish they can’t just go ahead and hope the patron will accept that. I wonder what they would have done if I’d refused to pay the full price? Anyway, we vote with our feet and the whole family won’t be returning.

Happened upon this pub when doing a Google search for a place for a family gathering, with people coming from many parts of the UK. It turned out to be a good location, in a glorious rural setting with splendid views and in central England not far from main routes NSEW. It had a great country atmosphere and pleasant staff. The Sunday menu included roasts plus other mains. Portion size was sensible and included lovely fresh veg. Everything our party had was excellent and the overall bill was very reasonable. It was extremely busy and is clearly very popular, which meant that service was a bit slow, though from our point of view that was good! In our family those who lived nearest said they’d definitely return and, if ever in the area again, we’d also make an effort to go again.

Dined at The Tiger on a Thursday evening which is their pie night, although the standard menu is also available. Easy to find on the centre of Turnditch with a reasonably large car park. Massive choice of pies on the menu, all priced at £8/9. , including plenty of vegetarian options. Pies are served with fabulous home made chips & fresh vegetables. Absolutely delicious. Very relaxed dining at this lovely country pub/restaurant. Highly recommended.

We’ve visited the Tiger Inn a handful of times and love the decor inside and the outside seating. It has a very cozy feel and whilst the food is nothing too fancy it’s always hot and tasty! The tiger burger and chilli are my personal favourites alongside the cheesecake. Only thing that let it down on our last visit (29th December) was the service, clearly understaffed and overbooked as a result which meant we were waiting a while for food and drinks. The staff were still very pleasant and did their best however seemed somewhat run ragged. Would still recommend and look forward to visiting in their pie night!
