This Pub/ restaurant is both human and dog friendly. Clean pleasant environment, embracing both modern and traditional styles. Friendly staff serving good reasonably priced food with portion sizes to suit various age groups. Would recommend both as a Pub and Restaurant.

The staff are lovely, the decor is great and the food is brilliant! Such a good pub in such a beautiful little town. I recommend a nice walk around Wayoh Reservoir followed by a nice pub dinner and a pint here!

I have visited this pub numerous times and have always received a warm and friendly welcome. Located in a picturesque area it is a great place to have a pint following a long walk. It also has the added bonus of being dog friendly and serves special doggy dinners for your four legged friends. I definitely would recommend this place... More

Dog friendly, so if you aren't into that it might not suit. We have a dog so it suits us and had just done one of the walks in the guide we picked up last time we had a pint there so had a hunger on. The garlic & stilton mushroom starter was stupendously tasty and the beef and ale... More

Having visited the Chetham a few times we knew we loved the food, mood and decor so decided to hold our small wedding reception (approx 40 people) there. The staff were fantastic, going more than the extra mile to help decorate the room and create an intimate ambience for our special day. The buffet was gorgeous and so were the... More

I got a steak ciabatta - for the price you can't really grumble but the chips were still a bit frozen in the middle & my friends veg looked like it had been in the microwave it bit too long. Shame really my friend has been many times but it put her off and I won't be rushing back !

Not been in the Chetham Arms for years! The bright dining room, albeit with some quirky decorations was welcoming. Quite modern compared to the inner pub which reminded me of the old fashioned pubs of my youth. Great service from very friendly waitress. We didn't eat, but the menu was tempting and the dishes served around us looked very good.

Visited today following someone else's review on Trip Advisor. The pub was full of people with dogs. They make no secret of the fact that they are a very dog friendly pub so beware of this if it's not your thing. There is one small part of the pub reserved for those people who do not wish to dine with... More

The rain arrived during the Fun Day at Edgworth Cricket Club/Barlow. It was a late decision for the family to go for a meal and understandably, we struggled to find anywhere with a table for 5 adults and 2 children. That was until we rang The Chetham - 'yes we can find you a table within the hour' was the... More
