As you are in the city which invented the Baklava, I feel you should try it in different places everyday while here and make your own mind up.

I ordered a mixed portion of pistachio baklava which was huge! So delicious was it that I stuffed myself completely. Indulgence!

The name Gulluoglu is synonimous with baklava. There are different Gulluoglu pastry shops all around Turkey. Our friend Mehmet (a native of Gaziantep) took us directly to Mahmut Gulluoglu. Everything was fresh, we had to wait nearly half an hour to be able to get...our orders.More

Reccomendable and most probably one of the best in Gaziantep. However service is poor and place is small only few tables to sit and eat. But worth to taste.

This venue has been established in 1871. It was a wide family so you can also find other branches of this brand. But these branches actually are different from this venue. For instance Karaköy Güllüoglu in İstanbul. The most special baklava kind of here is...plain or creamy baklava. The taste of this kind was perfect. The owner, Murat Güllü was a sincere and humble man. #KanGurularMore

Lovely and historic family owned desert shop for the best baklava ever. I have been to many cities Turkey/Greece/Middle East but clearly this was the best baklava. Location is in the middle of the historic bazaar (Elmaci Pazari), so it is easy to stop by...and have a sweet pause in your trip. The owners have been continuing this business for many generations, usually you can see them around. You can also try other deserts such as sobiyet or pistachio bars as well. The name "Gulluoglu" is being used by some other shops as well (some are replica), but this shop is the original and the best.More

Turkish baklava is both crisper and wetter than the Lebanese variety, and less sweet. (Top is dry and crisp, bottom half is in the syrup which is not terribly sticky.) Gulluoglu makes the best in Istanbul. While the neon sign in their main shop says..."we have no branches" there are currently 4 of them, each selling slightly different ranges. Open all day, always full - worth a detour and a stop. And they will wrap a package to take abroad!!More
