The Southern tamale and it's origins are mostly unknown. It's like it's cousin in that it is made with corn meal and then wrapped in a corn husk or paper. Rhoda has the most famous of all the Deep South tamale. She has been written up in all major travel and food magazines and even on NPR. Located in the... More

We visited at lunch on a mid-week day and the place wasn't too busy - we were able to get a table. We had the tamales and the pinto beans - and they were both wonderful. We loved the place and if we are ever back in the area, we will eat here again! If you like tamales, this is... More

We look forward to stopping at Rhoda's every year on our way to Florida. The catfish, chicken, burgers, vegetables and of course pies are awesome! Love Rhoda❤️

This is one of the best places for homemade tamales and pecan and sweet potatoe pie. The tamales are very good. Its in a old shack so if you want to sit down and eat seating is very limited. Only three tables. They do not take credit cards. Will come back again. Rhoda is a sweet ole lady.

If you are driving through Lake Village, you must stop at Rhoda's Famous Tamales! Best ever! Rhoda was rolling tamales with her grandson while her husband was taking orders. Don't forget pie, if there is any left! Also take some tamales to go! They freeze well!

Love Rhoda's. By far best and most unique place to eat in lake village. People literally fly in from hours away just to eat there. She's super friendly and makes awesome food, though definitely not fast. Catfish is highly recommended and so are her tamales. Her pies, which come in normal size and personal (a few inches diameter) are great... More

Yes the building is a little on the scary side. No, the A/C doesn't keep up. Yes, she doesn't keep regular hours. And you shouldn't care about any of that. These are literally my favorite tamales in the world. She didn't have any fried pies, and she was out of friend chicken. So we both at the tamales, and we... More

News of this place has spread through my family like wildfire. Though we all live more than two hours away from Lake Village, any time we're traveling through, we make a point to go visit Rhoda and have some of her delicious tamales. They're wrapped in corn husks for the perfect texture, and the seasonings and spices can't be beat.... More

Rhoda's is an icon in southeast Arkansas. Rhoda is an institution unto herself. Best homemade tamales anywhere. She pushes her fresh homemade pies! They are pretty and delicious. Bring some tamales home after enjoying her downtime soul food. Might not look like much but font be afraid to go, you will be inspired. Call ahead to make sure it is... More
