A classic and traditional must stop place for late dinner in Tuxtla Gutierrez, to enjoy the Chiapas traditional environment and food restaurant with good service and after 9 PM to live the Marimba and Dance show. Do not miss the opportunity to ask the drink called PUMPO, it is a show when arrives to your table, but also very refreshing... More

We ate there after reading all the good reviews and we left kinda disappointed. This place is sure a lot of fun. It's really busy with live music and the waiters are excellent, welcoming and friendly. We sat down at our table excited about the venue and trying some Chiapas specialities We had a look at the menu and everything... More

What a fun evening to spend eating well and drinking "Pumpo", a refreshing low alcohol drink. Order one and it will be announced to whole restaurant to bells ringing and waiters chorussing "Pumpo". You don't want to miss this place if you are in Tuxtla Gutierrez!

We had to try it! It's number 1 on the restaurant list, but this must be catered to American tourists. We've travelled all through Mexico -- so have tried some really authentic food and this pales in comparison. It wasn't terrible food, just nothing fancy. In fact, soo unmemorable that I can't remember what I ate. Pity!! Give this a... More

We visited this restaurant for the second time (first was in 2009), in January 2017 with a group of 11 people. This restaurant is an amazing place from the special drink, Pumpo to their amazing menu of typical Chiapean and Mexican cuisine to the dinner show of dancing couples in beautiful costumes highlighting the history of the region and the... Visiting Tuxtla last year, I came across Las Pichanchas on a recommendation by the hostel owner. Not a fan of formal dining (I sort of prefer the local community market, or street vendors), I decided to give it a try. The first surprise was waiters yelling (at full lung): "Hay viene Pumpo", while walking through out the restaurant, carrying a... More

This is a must when traveling to Tuxtla Gutiérrez. The food is just great and the environment just could not be better. I went for business with my partner and could not stop thinking about how my family would love it. We are already making plans to go back there. Don't you dare leaving not having tried the Pumpo, the... More
