Many restaurants get top reviews and this place is a must eat at destination in Old Bagan. It is opposite its arch competition, but forget that and go here. The guacamole and poppadoms are sublime, and the ginger salad and tomato and peanut curry are simply superb. In fact all the food we had was tasty, well sized servings and... More

Guacamole was amazing and totally hit the spot! The burgers on the contrary were not all that good and had literally only 12 fries; the patty was an egg. The waitresses had a hard time explaining the menu and answering questions. Another friend had a chapati and was very different than staff explained, it was pretty much a chapati on... More

Our evening at Yar Pyi was fantastic. We had great banana spring rolls, a coconut soup, pumpkin curry and tomato peanut curry. Everything was delicious. It seemed like the restaurant was run by the whole family and made us feel like we came to someone's house and not to a restaurant. At the end we had some trouble with our... More

The main ingredient was grease... the tea leaf salad consisted further of mayonnaise, avocado and peanuts... the spring rolls were dripping of baking fat. Nothing special, don't go

the owners are very friendly and helpful, speaking good English. We enjoyed the chapati (Excellent!!!) and other local dishes such as the deep-fried banana, grilled eggplant, coconut soup. All were tasty and delicious. Highly recommended!!!

Across the street from Moon, which is probably mentioned by one of the guidebooks because everybody stops there. Forget Moon, and come to Yar Pyi, a great vegetarian restaurant. I can recommend the tealeafsalad, which is not one dish, but a plate subtile composed with various ingredients. Exceptionally good vegetarian cuisine.

We were going to "Be Kind to Animals, The Moon", the place across from this restaurant, but decided to give this place a try. I’m not a vegetarian, but everything we ordered was delicious and very flavorful. Stir Fried Okra was my favorite dish. We never tried The Moon, so I can't give you the comparison, but I was happy... Certainly doesn't live up to all the excellent reviews. Eggplant and tofu curry was pretty good but everything else was average (including a cold serving of rice). Sin Thar Day is a better option if you head south of Old Bagan.

Run by a family, this is a very friendly place serving great brekkie especially at a time when most other restaurants are closed. Loved the veggie burger (without a patty) and the guacamole is legendary.

I ate here three times, i.e. daily, during my visit to Bagan. A cosy family-run restaurant with a nice selection of vegetarian food at a competitive price (considering how expensive touristy restaurants are in the Bagan area). In additon to a tasty meal you also get plenty of tourist info if you need any. Much better value than the Moon... More
