The personnel is very friendly. The service is very responsive. And the most interesting things is the food is healthy. I am very observant about my diet . So when I want to spoil myself with bread in my meal I go to Calafya. If...you are a mama with energetic kids, please Calafya give you a possibility to concentrate on your work while your kids are playingMore

A variety in the menu; my favorite is the chicken avocado sandwich, welcoming staff. Kids friendly, cosy and a wonderful view

Stopped here with my husband while on holiday. He had a latte with a chocolate brownie. I had African tea with a banana bread. I enjoyed my tea and banana bread. He thought the latte was good. The property is nicely landscaped and the view...and atmosphere was pleasant on the morning we visited.More

This place is clearly targeting the expat crowd. As a result, it’s a bit expensive by Rwandan standards. BUT, it’s still less than half the price you’d pay in the US for comparable food. I had the Kale Avocado Mango Chickpea salad, and it was...like a quick bistro the States (except for the bread, which was a bit stale). It was 500 Rwf (about $5.50), and yes that’s more than other restaurants, but that sort of food isn’t available anywhere else in Gisenyi. So if you have a hankering for US-style healthy food, this is your best bet in Gisenyi.More

The restaurant has a amazing view from the terrace over lake Kivu. It is situated in a beautiful garden away from the noise and crowds. The food is prepared with fresh high quality ingredients. Everything tastes so good. Try the steak sandwich and one of...the large salads. You won't be disappointed.More

... At least among the ones we have tried! Calafia offers a nice selection of tasty dishes along with delicious smooties(!), softdrinks and cocktails. Their cappuccino was outstanding! The mojito we ordered came with only a few ice cubes instead of crushed ice, and could...have been better. We loved the sandwiches, offered also in half portions. You're seated in a garden where many of the ingredients are grown, and from where you have a view over Lake Kivu. The staff and service was excellent.More

While on tour in Gisenyi our guides catered from here, DELICIOUS! I want to go back and try food at the main restaurant. The smoothies, salads and sandwiches are so good you will only want more (but will be too filled to do it)!

Great coffee, food and smoothies. Best food and service in the area, easily. It’ll take a while so call in your order to save time. This isn’t America but the best around easily. Cute place.

Great meal! My husband said the eggplant was one of the best sandwiches he ever ate. The macadamia/mango granola was great. Members of our group also tried the coffee and Lady Baron cocktail - all was wonderful.

This place is an excellent pitstop for lunch and coffee right next to the DRC border. It has a full range of great sandwich and salad options with a beautiful garden and view of Lake Kivu. We went twice! Either side of the border!
