Medfouna Was Not Authentic

We had lunch here on a Thursday. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. Service was fast and friendly. We sat in a large delightful room with a bamboo ceiling which allowed the sunlight to stream in. The walls were lined with ancient doors and other antique nick-nacks. There was a bougainvillea plant in the center of the room and birds flew around above chirping. Overall it was a wonderful place for a meal. The upstairs terrace is even more attractive and colorful if that's possible. We were completely wowed by this restaurant's interior. Unfortunately, the medfouna we ordered was not authentic or very good. It consisted of a typical round semolina bread that are sold at most bakeries. Inside was a thin layer of tomato and onions. It was cooked in a wood-fired oven however. The taste was OK but nothing to get excited about. This was our first medfouna, so as a tourist we didn’t know what the original looked or tasted like until we had a real homemade one at a restaurant in Rissani the next day. What a huge difference. The other dishes at this restaurant may be better, but no way can we recommend eating here for its medfouna.

Perfect place for the area

Good service and very good service. Very clean and tidy place and charming. In perfect summer as it is cool (they have air conditioning). Very good food and good pizzas. Highly recommended for the area where it is. I would definitely repeat again.

Good pizza lunch on way to Dessert

Good lunch spot on your way to the desert

My boyfriend and me stopped at Restaurant des Dunes for lunch and had their pizzas - that was quite a nice change vs the tajines :) The service was nice and the pizzas were a good lunch, not too big. You can park outside on the street!

Once we got to Erfoud after 7 hours of driving, it was one of the few dinner choices we had. The pizza wasn’t good, I got a margarita that was barely eatable, and my friend got a special one that couldn’t be eaten, although he had been starving all day long. The Coca cola was cold as it should though, and that was the highlight of our dinner. The whole thing costed less than 15 euros - so it was a cheap meal, from every aspect. Afterwards we got back to our hotel and ate chocolate chip cookies. Those were nice.

Back Patio a Beautiful Surprise!

The restaurant itself is pretty dark so imagine my surprise when led out a back door to an absolutely lovely garden dining area cleverly decorated with doors. I had a pizza which was quite good and plenty to fill me. The staff was pleasant and attentive

Nice stop for lunch

We stopped here on our way to Merzouga and had a really nice lunch. We tried a pizza and a salad which were both good. Staff was friendly, location and interior were perfect for us. Spent all of $11 for lunch for two of us so was also a good value.

We had a lovely meal here (Poulet au citron tagine) and it was very cheap. It is a lovely place with great staff. If there is one meal I remember from my two week stay in this country it is this one.

Not what they claim

The pizza came out really dry. Very little sauce on it if any.We went because of a review we had read and it was so not worth the time finding it. If you go, ask for extra sauce and make sure one of your pizzas do not have the stinkiest tuna on earth on it. The only thing saltier than the olives in Morocco is the tuna at this place.

Pizza place that was not the best

This place makes pizzas. That have lots of freebies per and tomatoes in them. Very hard to cut as they really do not give you good utensils but they try hard. On the plus side rather have good live music and try hard
