Excellent Indian food in the heart of Africa

One of the best restaurants specializing in Indian food that I know. The service is excellent. The curries were exquisite. The place is open and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable. We went three, 4 courses, bread, a bottle of South African white wine and three mixed drinks: 22 euros per person. As we had difficulty finding a taxi, a member of staff took us to the hotel in his private car.

An AMAZING Night

Dinner at Tandurei was amazing! The owner was so friendly, telling us stories about his time in Maun since we were just passing through. He sent out some of his favorite dishes for us to try and the food we ordered ourselves was also delicious! I will be coming back in the future every time I am in Maun!

Great food and cold beer

This place has great Indian food, a cool atmosphere, and ice cold beer. The service was also great. We took the recommendations of our server and they were all spot on. Highly recommend this place and will eat here again when we go back.

Appalling Service Tasteless Food

Myself and friends have visited this waterhole on a few occasions. Recently service and food standards have dropped. Yesterday was an all time low- the Indian owner seemed more interested in losing money gambling on rugby whilst the staff hang around whilst customers were obliged to return to the bar fir service, the staff flit from client to another. The food ordered took an hour to arrive one pork fish arrived 30 minutes after the others and was nit cooked properly, even then the reminder of that fish arrived 10 minutes after eating! Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, they showed the typical Botswana response nothing. Leaving with a bill of over Pula 600, the money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Inconsistent

During our 10 weeks in Maun we visited Tandurei 5 times - once for breakfast and other various times, with both larger groups (approx 8) and as a couple. The locals absolutely love this place but our experience was that service was horribly inconsistent. The food was ok; however, it may be best to stick to one cuisine (the Indian which they do very well) rather than to span the globe. Spring rolls were disappointingly not crispy. Descriptions of certain old boys favourites would be helpful. Breakfast was a huge disappointment but it is a new initiative. We were the only 2 in the restaurant and it took almost an hour before we got our breakfast. My husband had a full English and it was good - I had 2 minuscule pancakes which were tasty but the portion was ridiculously small. Will we return - yes, prices are good and the vibe is fun.

Atmosphere incredible and food excellent

The atmosphere at this restaurant is incredible with an old airplane on display, a pizza oven burning, rustic bar and super cocktails. But the food was even better than better. Large menu with big portions and super tasty.

Excellent meal in Maun

A group of mates travelling around Botswana went for dinner at Tandurei restaurant. Service was top class. Owner very helpful and informative about the different menu items. Would definitely recommend.

Great tasting Indian food!

Fun, bar-like atmosphere with lots of expats. Great tasting Indian food, really good and authentic flavors! Great Indian food altogether. Reasonable prices. We had paneer dishes and both of them were great. Lots of vegetarian options which is always a plus. Friendly service. Will go here again before leaving Maun.

Amazing hospitality and food! Absolutely wonderful ambience, the owner was so nice and welcomed us with open arms. He even let us try some of his favorite dishes! 10/10 will recommend to anyone

Best curry in Maun

If you ever come to Maun you must go to Tandurei its not only the bet curry in Maun, but they also have the best eisbein.....really Eisbein in Africa, in a curry restaurant....heck yes and you get a pint of larger and a jaggermeister its called a Bavarian....staff are great and the owner Praveen will make you feel welcome
