We came here in a group of 4 and had a great time. The wine bar has a huge variety of different wines by the bottle, and some by the glass. They also offer tastings. We all opted for the tasting of a mix of reds and whites (5 in total). Prices are in USD, which seemed strange at first... More

The wine is good, the place has a cosy atmosphere and Chato is the best host you can ask for. We learned alot about the different wines and the history of Cafayate. We spend 3 nights there, having different tastings and ended up buying more than one bottle...

Cosy place, clearly for visitors but not cheesy. Great selection of wine, nibbles available to soak it all up.

We really enjoyed sampling from the extensive wine list, chatting with the knowledgeable host and the pleasant ambiance. It was a great introduction to Cafayate.

We went to this wine bar after reading a review in Lonely planet that it was the only decent bar with tasting in Cafayate. After having missed a tasting bar in Mendoza (Vines of Mendoza closed unfortunately) we were eager to try a wine bar that can provide a taste for the different wines of the region before going to... We visited chato's wine bar three times during two days in January. It was a very good way to start and end our visits to the vineyards around town. We tried several wines to find out which bodegas we would like to visit, and came back later to have some more glass of our favorite's. Be sure to try chato's... More

The best place to start learning about the local wine and the only place I found where I could try many bodegas produce in one place and learn about the differences. Chato speaks good English was keen to talk which made it fun and is not pretensious. He gave us some great tips on vineyards and restaurants to visit. 400... More

I’ll do my best to explain exactly what this place is, and who Mr Chato is catering his business towards. We arrived and began thumbing through the menu. All prices are listed in US dollars, with a sticky note on the first page of the menu that lists two dollar to peso exchange rates. The first was the official rate,... More

We stumbled upon this little place and were instantly impressed by the decor and the host who spoke some English! The wine tasting was great and Chato was really interesting and enthusiastic! The nibbly food was great too! If you're in Cafayate go to Chato's!!!
