So lovely tea with almonds and mint and a small plate of Tunisian pastries… but for 21 TD?! OUCH! I had only taken 20TD out with me as I figured, I’d stop in and there’s no way it would be more than 10-15 at the...most. There’s no menu card nor prices given at the start. That said the waiter was cordial and quick (I was the only one there) and the decor is wonderful. Once and done ☑️More

Sidi Bou Saïd is a gem. A place that is different from all other places in Tunisia, but not only in Tunisia. White-blue houses open the artistic spirit in us and overwhelm us with wonderful feelings of satisfaction. One of the significant and wonderful places...where artists, bohemians, painters, writers, poets, sculptors used to gather in a relaxing atmosphere is Café des Nattes or Kahoua El Alia. A special place. Café des Nattes is one of the emblematic places of Sidi Bou Saïd that should not be missed because of its importance and its beauty. It is located in the very center of the city. Sitting on mats, smoking hookah and sipping mint tea and eating delicious cookies is how you experience Café des Nattes. The reputation of Café des Nattes comes from the beginning of the 20th century, when students and artists inhabited its terrace, several big names made it famous: Simone de Beauvoir, André Gide, Paul Klee, Johnny Hallyday, Georges Bernanos to name just a few of examples. The Moorish style, with high stairs, white walls contrasting with the blue of the woodwork, in keeping with the rest of Sidi Bou Saïd, makes it a particularly pleasant place, but the cafe is literally busy in the middle of the day, and some even wait in line to find a seat. The atmosphere is completed by the view of the Gulf of Tunis and the beautiful small square and the main street Place du Souk. The service was excellent, exactly as it should be. Everyone is friendly and the mint tea is unforgettable.More

an average cafe and is overpriced. Nothing special and maybe due to COVID but the tea in paper cups is not the best.

The best place to try a traditional mint tea that is served with white almonds. It's a great spot to watch the passing people on the main street and beautiful scenery to the sea.

The perfect place for a mint tea pick-me-up. Here mint tea is still served the traditional way with pinenuts on the top. Great spot to watch the passing parade.

This is the oldest café in Sidi Bou Said and you should definitely visit it while you're there. Very charming and has a nice view. Tea with almonds and mint leaves is a must - it was perfect!

Last came here back in November and returned here with friends this month as we enjoyed it here last time. There are great views here and I would recommend the Turkish coffee as that is very good here and is around 4 TND.

Nice little cafe with great view of the town. Spoiled unfortunately by the poor coffee and free sweets which turned out not to be free. No need for this rip off attitude. If offered a plate of sweets with your coffee don't eat them or...expect to be charged 11 dinar. Other than that nice view .More

One pays for the view and the experience here and that is why you pay more than you would normally in a local cafe - it’s a typical long-standing tourist attraction and it is what it is The coffee, Turkish (moorish) coffee and mint tea...are good and views from here excellent Around 4TND per cup of tea/coffee or just under You should try if you are a tourist EnjoyMore

Typical tourist trap where only your maoney matters to the owners... Expensive and fairly average place. Must eb seen once I suppose but be careful when you get the bill. They are not shy to stick a few extras on it!!!!!
