This place had some of the best pasta and sauces in the world, let alone south america. the flavours are varied and some a little different to many traditional italian flavours as they fit in more with what’s available locally. Service lovely, wine recommendations brilliant...and the pasta exceptional! Really cute space too. we came here for a date night after a full on day hiking on a backpacking trip and loved the sorrentino! we had ossabucco and trout. we loved it so much we went back again to order take away pasta a couple of days later. Can’t recommend enough! Do not miss this place!...but make sure to reserve to avoid disappointment!More

Amazing, fresh, al dente pasta with delicious sauces! We're from London, so are spoiled for choice when it comes to great restaurants. However, this place exceeded all our expectations of what an Italian restaurant in a sleepy town in Patagonia would be like. Some of...the best pasta we've ever had, and at the type of bargain prices you'd expect from a small trekking-centered town in PatagoniaMore

We were quickly accommodated to a shared table with another couple. We did not have a reservation. By 7:30 the place was packed!! Food and service were delicious after a full day of hiking. Loved the atmosphere and would definitely recommend. The spaghetti and meatballs...were great. Also try the house salad - very unique presentation and can be shared.More

We made a reservation for 9:30 on arrival at Maffia, then went upstairs to a tapas bar. After 9:30 I went downstairs to discover our name had been crossed off the reservation list. They found us a table after 5-10 minutes and we ordered. I...had the ravioli (made fresh) in a wine reduction sauce and my college-age daughter had the spaghetti (also made fresh) carbonara. My ravioli was very good, but the waitress forgot to bring a dinner salad I had ordered. My daughter’s spaghetti was cooked fine, but the cream sauce had apparently sat around and had separated. She couldn’t eat it. On a positive note, the tiramisu was excellent.More

Delicious homemade pasta and plenty of veggie options! Tasty wine, good service and great atmosphere. It’s best to pop in and book to avoid disappointment and be aware that if you are a small group, you will probably be on a sharing table. Would recommend...to anyone in this area - good value and great portion sizesMore

We had an awesome meal at Maffia. The atmosphere is family style where you share tables. The restaurant is lively but not too loud. Get a reservation though, we could not get a table as a walk in. The service is very good. We had...a salad which was large enough to share and 2 pasta dishes which were both delicious. They have generous pours of house wines too. All for a very reasonable price. They even take VISA, which many restaurants here only take cash.More

Two of the three pasta meals of our group were good - homemade and fresh, with good sauces. Not amazing. The third was bland. No wine list; instead a staff person helps you select, but in our case he directed us toward wines more pricey...than i asked for. The staff was efficient if not friendly. No real problems with our dinner here, but we sure didn’t leave feeling positive. A strange experience, really.More

Very good choice, the best we had after 4 days in El Chalten at the right price . Every thing was very tasty, portions can be split, house wine is great. Tiramisu is very good.

Really glad it was cash only as would haven’t spent way too much on the fantastic selection of wine they have. Food really great, service fab and whilst there are shared tables for couples it isn’t too painful as most people want to share experiences...of Argentina. Recommend booking if possible, although they accept walk-in but may require waiting, but they have a nice upstairs bar. Take away fresh pasta to cook and wine to take out as well for 25% discount.More

The food was good, but the staff wasn’t very friendly. The restaurant is fully booked every day. They strongly made us feel we had to eat quickly, cause the next guests were waiting already. It seems that this restaurant is going too well, there isn’t...much attention for the customer anymore. Everybody is so friendly in El Chaltén, but some off the staff working at Maffia aren’t, a very disappointing experience!! Too bad.More
