Frequented by Spanish - speakers so thought I'd give this a go but ultimately ultimately very disappointed.  Steak was not good quality.  Wine selection was good though.

Nice pizza, good salads, small and private. This is right on the main road to hiking so its convenient to stop to grab a bite a chug a beer.

You know it's all going to go horribly wrong and you are about to get ripped off when you order a jug of tap water, the waitress comes back, having spoken to the owner, to tell you that the tap water is not safe to drink!! This is the only establishment in the whole town that will not serve you... More

One of the reasons we chose this place is that is said in a few places on the door that the took credit cards. With limited pesos, this was important. After dinner, we put down our card for the bill and they came over and explained that they would drive us , in the owners car, to a hotel, to... More

For our Xmas eve the restaurant went to some trouble to ensure we could celebrate with a three course meal. They even added extra food at no extra cost. This was appreciated. The main meal was steak or chicken. I had chicken which was tasty. Unfortunately during the night I had to get up for drinks of water because of... More

A don't usually have bad things to say about any place. I also try to see the positives in most situations BUT I feel I have to write about this restaurant as we had a thoroughly bad experience here. Throughout the dinner I kept getting nudges that the whole thing was designed to extract more and more money from me.... More

We ate dinner at El Chalten for three nights and all our meals were good, but this place had the highest prices and the least ambience. The most popular places need advance reservations but it is worth the trouble.

We ate twice this restaurant. The first time we had a curry chicken that lacked a lot and left us not ever wanting to eat chicken again. When our tour operator took us again, we almost staged a revolt. The second night we had a veggie lasagna that was excellent. It was a great change of pace from all the... More

We ate here one of three nights in El Calten. It was much better food than we had at the other place, but apparently was more expensive (but worth it). We had absolutely great vegetable soup which was served super hot. The bread was good. I would have been happy to just have soup and bread, but we also got... More
