We went for a meal for a birthday celebration and enjoyed our time there. The food was nice, all eight of us had a nice meal. I liked the atmosphere in the bar and will definitely go back there again.

Great good. Slightly bonkers decor. Always busy. The staff are very pleasant. A log fire in winter is perfect.

Went to the bear with a friend for Sunday Lunch. Plenty of parking at the back of the hotel and easy to find. The food was of an excellent quality with the exception of the Yorkshire puddings. I'm from Yorkshire and they have been made in my family for generations. One thing they never were was artificially given a help... More

Was a lovely area situated in a pretty town. Food was lovely, however overpriced. Staff weren't inviting either sadly but overall an average experience for dinner

Stopped here for lunch. Great choice good food. Busy lunchtime with fast service. Old inn pub with real ales and extensive wine choice.

Husband and I visited just for a drink and it was lovely. Helpful and friendly staff, lovely open fire and comfortable seating. Would visit again and for food next time.

This establishment has a great atmosphere and a cozy interior. It was very lively when we walked in for a late lunch. We immediately found a table by the bar which proved fortuitous because it allowed for quick service of our order. The staff were helpful regarding information about the menu and the beer on tap. We ordered the Faggots... More

As a family, we have been going to this pub, for meals, for years. At the end of March we had a lovely meal, the steak and ale pie was superb, could not wait to return and order the same, but last week I was very disappointed - the same pie was on the special's menu, £5 more and no... More

Poor...Very rare I review on any site, as I run bars and restaurants myself and as such, I am very understanding. Arrived at 4pm ish 25/10/16 , very quiet but young gentleman behind bar could not have been less interested. Despite quiet bar, had to struggle to catch his eye/ interest to get menu/ soup of day/ dessert of day/... More

Booked a table here for a thursday night at 7.30, we were seated in the little restaurant room. Lovely little room but i was sat next to the scorching hot radiator so apologies but I did turn it off. I would have liked a bit more description on the menu as I ordered the chicken and leek pie expecting puff... More
