Walked in on a freezing cold day - it was packed - unsurprising, as rest of Ullapool seemed to be shut. Lady behind counter smiled and advised us to "find a table and I'll come and take your order". What does that mean to you? We found a table and waited. Eventually, same lady came past our table and advised... More

We've been travelling around this beautiful area for the last few days off season a little disappointed but not surprised to find that so many places are closed for the winter season. Sometimes just a little cappuccino does the trick but none forthcoming for a couple of days. We travelled today to Ullapool, a little town of 1500, but the... More

Nice little place, however I desperately needed a toilet break and off I went..... Think my pee turned to icicles it was that cold in there, no hot water to wash your hands either, and yes they have two taps one hot, one cold, one red, one blue. Einstein I am not but pretty sure red was meant to be... More

We went to the Frigate twice, both times for breakfast and we're very happy with the food and service. The breakfasts are big and filling and all locally sourced produce. Definitely recommend it.

We had a bite to eat and a drink here. There was quite a large party there at the same time, and only one lady doing everything. She was a bit frazzled but still friendly and got to us in pretty good time! The cakes weren't that great, carrot cake was the best of the three we tried.

We had a great breakfast here, it was huge. It was a little pricey but it set us up for the day. Only gripe i had was the menu did not say that toast was included with the breakfast so when I placed the order I asked for toast, the guy at the counter never advised that it came with... More

Popped into this lovely restaurant for something to eat before travelling by ferry to Lewis , I ordered chicken coujons, chips and salad , my husband ordered a bacon baguette with chips , well I must say it was the best meal we had in a restaurant in a very long time , the presentation was amazing and I never... We visited Frigate, in Ullapool, on the western coast of the Scottish Highlands on a sunny Wednesday morning in November. It was bitterly cold and needed hot drinks. Based on Shore Street and overlooking the ferry port to the Isles this seemed the best place around for refreshments and a welcome sit down. We chose a sunny window seat and... More

Visited the Frigate for breakfast during a Scottish tour. The staff were friendly and there were good size portions. Marvellous views across the loch. Parking is meant to be time restricted, but the staff told us that the wardens very rarely come to check.
