We ate here twice during a recent week in the Ullapool area and were impressed both times. The starters, main and desserts we tried were all top notch with the fish chowder being the stand out dish. The service was polite and efficient although we had quite a wait for the bill on both occasions. Overall, it was pretty good... More

We have been there several times over the years but this was very disappointing. I think this is a place that seems to be resting on its laurels and lack of competition. The service was ok nothing leave a tip for. What really angered us was the Langoustine what a total band utter rip off although when questioned no real... More

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst driving round The North Coast 500. The Ceilidh Place is vibrant and welcoming and the staff are very helpful. We celebrated my birthday here and the food was delicious. We had a standard double room with an ensuite which was well appointed and comfortable. The lounge area is large, bright and airy with... I hate giving bad reviews but our experience was really poor. First of all we were excited about our lunch. What was good? 1. Lovely place with original features 2. It's in Ullapool which is such a great place. 3. Nice piece of cake. The bad. 1. Sent back seafood chowder. Tasted like milk with little flavour of fish. No... More

We couldn't get into the Arch as we'd hoped, and how pleased we were to discover this little gem. We had a very reasonably priced dinner, I enjoyed the Walnut and Scottish blue cheese salad, and the very rich and tasty venison casserole. An Teallach Real ales on tap, with a fine selection of bottled Scottish beers helped us along.... More

Have visited this place a few times when in the area but have not written a review before. Went here for lunch. The choice was extensive and "locally sourced". The staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried and the food was both beautifully presented and very tasty. Definitely one of the best places to eat in Ullapool .

Very friendly and helpful service, all the staff had interesting stories to tell. We had the carrot and lentil soup, a taste sensation, and the curly sausage - also delicous. The potato salad was not so good, but when we complained they gave us another soup and did not charge us for either. Excellent coffee.

It took 30 minutes to get the soup, and another 20 minutes for the burger! The place was half empty, so being busy was not an excuse. The soup itself was average at best, the burger was decent.

We arrived in Ullapool for lunch - and where else to go but this iconic restaurant. It is easy to find set on the road up from the busy harbour and it looks stunning from the outside. Inside was comfortable - and busy! Staff were friendly and coped well with the lunch time crowd. We knew that our main meal... More
