Certainly seems the place to be

Whilst only staying for a night, I quite like The Ceilidh Place. The restaurant has the feel of an old lodge with its heavy use of wood and a log burner, it's a pleasant atmosphere. Spent the last week in January on holiday in Ullapool and used the Ceilidh Place for latte/cappuccino/hot chocolate and light lunches which were all very good. Particularly enjoyed the smoked haddock chowder on offer. Very warm and welcoming with a fantastic log burner throwing an enormous amount of heat out (luckily) and plenty of daily/local newspapers to browse through so... More

This was a haven in January! Polished floors, great coffee, a mesmerising wood burner, only eclipsed by the beautiful portrait being hung on the wall. Gently buzzing atmosphere, hugs, smiles, perfect.

We went in for a late afternoon drink and with a view to evening meal. The service was so slow and when the barman eventually arrived he seemed offended that I had asked one of the food waitresses how to get a drink. Ullapool is great - there's lots of places to eat and drink. Most of them friendly! Needless... More

We enjoyed a venison casserole here followed by apricot crumble and coffee. All very nice, but we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and then again for food to arrive and they were not all that busy. Our hosts at the B&B where we were staying told us that they had had similar reports... More

Have visited The Ceilidh Place for a number of years and really it has changed very little. It has a really 'local' feel to it - a bit rugged and basic, but obviously popular because it always seems busy. The food is essentially good - the moules were really good and the smoked haddock chowder was delicious, but unfortunately the... More

We visited for coffee & cake on a Sunday morning & found the place to be relaxing although quite busy. There was a box of toys to amuse the children & the cakes & scones were very tasty. Definitely worth another visit.

I went here with two others for lunch all going well until I found a fly in my food. A server was approached and no apology given or politeness in speech. Only asked "Do you want another burger? Yes I did receive another meal but it was not good. I will not be visiting here again. The customer service and... More

Stopped in for a cake and coffee with my husband. All fresh baking and nice drinks. Prices were reasonable for the area. Really nice atmosphere with the wood burner.
