I have enjoyed staying at the Ceilidh Place and eating there on previous occasions. They have coped well with my gluten intolerance. I was looking forward to a special meal this week, but the only gluten-free main was burger without the bun. Specifically, the fish and chicken meals were covered with breadcrumbs and wheat had been used in the venison... More

Over many years I've stayed here, or just visited the book shop, the cafe, or eaten in the restaurant, or just had a drink at the bar - it has such a distinct quirky ambience I just love going there!

We visited Ceilidh Place several times on our recent visit to Ullapool. During the day we had tea or coffee and enjoyed looking round the integral book shop. In the evening we tried the bar and restaurant. It was not full but we were there at a quiet time of year - in peak tourist season it gets vert busy... More

Have been a devotee of this excellent business since 1973. Love the food, know it is good and appreciate the whole atmosphere.

One of a few decent places to eat in Ullapool with a varied menu for luch and evening with a bar. Lively and interesting atmosphere. There is a book store within too. Seems both locals and visitors alike frequent the place, which is deceptively large inside. Had a lovely salmon salad.

We visited on a busy Sunday lunchtime and the service was very slow. However, you don't go to Ullapool for fast service, This is laid back place. Take your time and unwind and enjoy.

Popped in here for coffee. Although the food and scones were nice enough the decor looked tired and past it's best. The service was ok but nothing special.

Service was prompt and dinner was delicious (1) wild venison casserole with potatoes (2) roasted aubergine with pine nuts risotto, truffle cream and salad (3) dessert - Scottish cheeses with oatcakes. Although not cheap we thought it was well worth the cost.

Breakfast menu very much better in my opinion than the lunch menu. Very few options for people trying to manage what they eat.

Food was good, Rabbit Soup was delicious, service was indifferent, decor and furniture look very tired. Perhaps it was end of season, although there were adverts for Christmas and New Year functions.
