10 of us had lunch here on Saturday, including two kids. Neither liked the kiddy alternative option (macaroni cheese) so both HAD to order from the main menu - and both LOVED their meals! As did all the adults! Really fabulous cheese souffle, followed by delicious chicken. The desserts were superb but the best bit? The petit fours at the... More

Friendly welcome from the staff and excellent perfectly cooked food at a fixed price. Ideal size for a cosy dining room and thank heavens, no piped music to interfere with diners quiet conversation. Very civilized. A pleasant experience and will definitely return.

Going to la Potinere is a real treat. The food is second to none prepared by Mary and Keith who own the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy wonderful freshly cooked local food.

As I come from Edinburgh I remember this as the original WISHING WELL tea-shop in the 1960's and have often wanted to visit its successor, now La Potiniere. Well, Barbara and I were fortunate in being able to do so last week and what an evening it was. Everything about the place is welcoming, friendly and beautifully laid out. The... More

This is truly a restaurant combining the best of service, food courses and a sensitivity to the taste of every fine diner. It is no wonder that only about 25 persons can eat at this wonderful place in one evening. You will need to make reservations, that’s for sure. This is one restaurant that goes down as one of my... What a delight to return to La Pot after quite a long time and still find food of the highest quality. Mary's skills in the kitchen are exemplified in the wonderful tastes and flavours of her food and enhanced with her presentation. The ambiance is relaxed and the seats are extremely comfortable so much so that we were last to... More

We had a truly outstanding meal here. The food was sensational - a succession of great dishes beautifully cooked and presented- the service friendly but very professional and the ambience very pleasant and relaxed. The general opinion of our party of 11 was that this was one of the best and most memorable meals we have ever had.

This restaurant is superb and shouldn't be missed. How it is rated lower than first is a travesty. From the Gemuse Bouche of pea and mint soup with a crème de menthe foam onwards our meal was absolutely delightful. Simply Magnificent..!!

Visited with a friend for lunch. Very small restaurant. Good service- not intrusive but friendly and attentive. The flavours were amazing- the cod was delicious and the petit fours served with coffee at the end were a lovely touch. At £20 for 2 courses including coffee and petit fours, this seemed good value for a special lunch.

We had dinner for 4 here. The food was absolutely superb from a well constructed menu. The restaurant is small and so our service was very attentive and friendly. Tucked away in the small town of Gullane I think this is a real hidden gem. Good value for a first rate meal.
