We had a truly outstanding meal here. The food was sensational - a succession of great dishes beautifully cooked and presented- the service friendly but very professional and the ambience very pleasant and relaxed. The general opinion of our party of 11 was that this was one of the best and most memorable meals we have ever had.

This restaurant is superb and shouldn't be missed. How it is rated lower than first is a travesty. From the Gemuse Bouche of pea and mint soup with a crème de menthe foam onwards our meal was absolutely delightful. Simply Magnificent..!!

Visited with a friend for lunch. Very small restaurant. Good service- not intrusive but friendly and attentive. The flavours were amazing- the cod was delicious and the petit fours served with coffee at the end were a lovely touch. At £20 for 2 courses including coffee and petit fours, this seemed good value for a special lunch.

We had dinner for 4 here. The food was absolutely superb from a well constructed menu. The restaurant is small and so our service was very attentive and friendly. Tucked away in the small town of Gullane I think this is a real hidden gem. Good value for a first rate meal.

This is a small restaurant, tastefully decorated with a lovely intimate atmosphere. You feel you are dining in someone's house and the other diners are fellow guests. The menu is limited as you would expect from a good restaurant. Choice of 3 starters and 3 mains and 3 deserts. The 2 course menu, coffee included is £20, whilst the 3... More

It is 2 years since our last visit. We had a superb meal - every dish first class - difficult to find words to give this meal justice. Well done Mary & Keith.

Another enjoyable visit for lunch to this delightful restaurant. Three courses plus coffee and petit fours accompanied by lots of oohs and aahs, as always! We've dined here a lot and never once been disappointed with the food, presentation or service. Years ago (under previous owners) La Potinière had a reputation for having a year-long waiting list but happily this... More

You will find that your waiter is quite informed about your meal. He ought to be; he is the owner. This is a tiny restaurant on the main street in Gullane that celebrates its 14th anniversary in July 2016. I would suspect that there is nary a previous patron who would not like to be sitting down there for dinner... More

Lunch at this restaurant in Gullane proves that the quality of food and ambience are not measured by the size of the establishment. In an intimate setting with a small menu of 2 choices for each course, the cooking of both our main courses - salmon and lamb - showed real expertise. We were glad that we went for the... More

We have visited La Potiniere several times over several years. The quality and standard of the food remains excellent, with new ideas and serious attention to detail. Service is attentive without being remotely obtrusive. Good house wines. Home-made breads to die for!
