Our Chairman, Mark Birkbeck, visited recently and was highly impressed by his entire experience. Service was above and beyond, and food quality was nothing less than exceptional. Mark ordered the Chowder and Scampi and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. The service was also of the highest...More

We have made this a regular dinner destination for our golf trips to East Lothian, thanks to great food, beer, wine and service. Great value for money, as always, on our last visit, when there were 15 in our party. Highly recommended, we will certainly...More

Excellent real ales. Great venue, inside and outside. Parking so easy. Child and pet friendly. A sandwich served with a cup of soup(very American) is an ideal snack. Cullen Skink soup, a Scottish staple, is for a more substantial hunger, and is a meal in...More

And he was correct. Great spot for a cold beer and a chicken sandwich with lots on the walls to view. Good service in a scenic location

Summer menu now omits several old favourites. Dinner for eight and all said that it was OK but not as they had recalled on previous visits. This used to be our go to place but The Main Course is our new favourite. Good beers here...More

I can only apologise that we have disappointed your party due to our change of menu. We have to change items on our menu twice a year in order to keep our regular customers happy some of whom dine 2 to 3 times a week...More

Lovely place for food, I've been a couple of times and I kind of appreciate the more out -there options, such as the mac & cheese with crayfish or the rezala goat curry. The Cullen skink is especially tasty, however my partner thought that the...More

Great old bar being wasted with rubbish food at ridiculous prices. Chips in a place like this should be yummy, crunchy, fluffy inside with nice potato. Even at this basic hurdle the kitchen fell with disgusting cardboard-tasting things. 'Everything made fresh on the premises' should...More

Dear amb a In response to your review, I would ask why you didn't make any of these complaints known to us during your visit. To say that the menu should read 'everything 'defrosted' on the premises' is both untrue and slanderous. To tackle your...More

Terrific service, casual atmosphere, wonderful food. True Scottish food in a pub-like setting (but much better than pub food)

The Old Clubhouse is situated in central Gullane, overlooking the locally famed links course. Built in 1890, this attractive half-timbered venue was originally intended to be a meeting place for Gullanes golfers, and though the club soon outgrew it, The Old Clubhouse remains popular with those fresh off the greens and maintains the exclusive ambience of a members club, with its reputation for fine food and warm welcome spreading far beyond the town itself. Unsurprisingly, a strong golfing theme is seen throughout the bar, with plenty of old photographs of the course and the club as well as quirky memorabilia dotted around the space, cosy club chairs and deep banquettes providing comfortable seating, encouraging you to stay and relax beyond your meal. Drawing on local produce, The Old Clubhouses menu is eclectic and inspiring, particularly known for its steaks and fish, the central offerings of the mainly pub-food-with-a-twist collection of dishes. The wine list is as well considered as the food offerings, and The Old Clubhouse has recently become known for homemade ice creams and sorbets, the ideal treat after a hard morning of stick and ball.
