Visited here tonight, with three friends. Food was all good, very full at the end thanks 😀 My wife is Vegan and the chef happily made a lovely meal not listed on the menu in the middle of service, week done. To top it off we managed to catch the live music at the end of the evening. Really talented... More

We ate here last night for our wedding anniversary, and it was the best (of over 20) pub meal we've had all year. My cullen skink starter was delicious, and our main courses -- we both had the steak and mushroom pie -- were superb. Great bread, wonderful chips, excellent beer, friendly staff. We had a lovely night.

I am the person responsible to taking a group of 6 gentlemen to The Cobbles on 16 November, the subject of a separate review by one of the group. I'm sorry that one of my friends was disappointed but I'm afraid that I have a different perspective on The Cobbles to him, which I base on all of my previous... More

This USED to be a very nice place to eat, they even HAD good reviews here, but NOT ANYMORE. It seems they had slept in their laurels. The food is simply disgusting. Feathers left on the duck meat, awful seasonings, poor quality... and I could go on and on. An urgent change of cook is needed or a visit from... More

I thank you for taking your time to review the Cobbles. I note that from your review that you visited us in November, which I believe to be true as we all recall your visit. However, we are very puzzled by your reference to duck as this has not been on our menu at all in November. We do not... More

We went to The Cobbles Restaurant at Kelso two nights ago on the recommendation of a Freind, but what a disappointment. The Cullen Skink fish soup has no relation to the usual delicious one I used to, hardly any fish and full of potatoes pieces with its skin on, watery and tasteless. The main dish which was Steak Pie, was... More

Dear Mr M.A. Hosny, Many thanks for taking the time to review your recent visit. I am naturally disappointed that you did not enjoy your meal. The two dishes you mention have received very positive reviews in the past and continue to do so. However, I fully accept that opinions vary. I am also pragmatic enough to acknowledge that sometime... More

Second visit to this excellent pub/restaurant. Visited in September this year + when we ordered a drink at the bar recognised by the bar man! All staff friendly. Plus visit on a Friday evening and enjoy live folk music from 10pm to 1am. I have nothing negative to say about Cobbles.

Visited the Cobbles last week with a group, the service was very efficient. The meal well presented. Only complaint the melon starter looked much better than it tasted, however, the rest of the meal made up for it.

Had a smoked salmon starter marinaded in gin - excellent and creative. Main course was rib eye steak and chips. Steak was very good, if not outstanding. The chips however, were outstanding! Very good friendly and attentive. Overall an excellent restaurant, also serving all sorts of real beers.

This is our 3rd visit to this restaurant and it never fails with quality of food or service. Steak pie is amazing and the mussels were delicious. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to make sure that you are happy with your meal and service. Please visit and try it for yourself.
