A dinner with friends last weekend. Good service - almost too good. There is folk singing on a Friday evening so the staff are keen to get dinner finished. Food was good but not exciting. Pigeon starter - eaten by three out of four - got the thumbs up. The wine list doesn't fit with pub food. It is too... More

On a recommendation from a local we visited The Cobbles on a Friday evening. The atmosphere of the little pub, as with the staff, was most welcoming, offering a wide choice of craft beers! The pale ale was a winner! To the restaurant where the enjoyable experience continued with attentive staff and an interesting menu. Sharing the liver pate to... More

We had one night staying at the Ednam House Hotel but decided not to have our evening meal there. On Trip Advisor recommendation we booked at The Cobbles. We booked a table for 6:15 on the understanding that we would have to vacate the table by 8:15. 6:15 was a little earlier than we would have liked but we took... More

Terry and I were planning an evening out and had popped into this pub for a coffee at lunchtime. We liked what we saw and so decided to come back later for dinner with friends. We booked a table upstairs in the restaurant. The restaurant was a little more formal than the downstairs bar (where you can also eat), but... More

Booked Christmas Eve 2016. So you would anticipate poor service and mediocre food and service ..... well we were hasty to say it was well yum yum and the Chef kindly made an omelette for one of us as we are a tad fussy ........ but portions were good , service fast and nice reasonable prices. Good central location and... More

we had dinner here whilst staying in the area. We found the staff friendly and professional. Food was delicious and all fresh. I had the whitebait and then the chicken burger which were both delicious. My husband had the haggis bon bons and then the lasagne which he said was the best he had ever had. We found it good... We went for a family lunch with two small children. Very friendly staff. Some of the meals were excellent - Cullen skink, Hardiesmill burger, whitebait Others were ok - fish pie and the kids meal (slightly odd thick wrap around the kids fish fingers). Really nice atmosphere. We would return but couldn't quite give 5 Stars.

Visited here tonight, with three friends. Food was all good, very full at the end thanks 😀 My wife is Vegan and the chef happily made a lovely meal not listed on the menu in the middle of service, week done. To top it off we managed to catch the live music at the end of the evening. Really talented... More
