Having heard good things about the restaurant at Ockenden Manor, my wife's birthday seemed as good as reason as any to give it a try. We had stable booked for 7.30, and arrived a few minutes early. We were greeted by a very courteous member of staff, who organised our first drinks. We were shown to the lounge area where... More

A brief lunch time visit alone (female) as part of a birthday spa event. Staff attentive and sweet and helpful, hotel in beautiful grounds, food (pearl barley risotto with chanterelles) full of amazing flavours. Perfect.

My wife and I recently moved to the beautiful village of Cuckfield and we went here for dinner on Saturday night. The restaurant is located in the Hotel and the dining room is wonderfully presented with stunning views of the gardens and the South Downs beyond. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a good choice of menus including... More

I went to Ockenden Manor for the first time tonight for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. I can't fault the food it was lovely, all 6 of us agreed on that, however the service was not great. Firstly we asked for prosecco which they had run out of, then they spilt water all over the plate when serving it, they... More

I visited here with a friend who had been gifted the 8 course tasting menu for two. This included champagne on arrival and we also opted for the wine pairings. Every member of staff we encountered was warm and helpful. It wasn't typical "staff" service as each member of the team made an effort to make sure we were looked... More

Want a special meal for a special occasion? This is your spot. Lovely staff and service - discreet but attentive. Beautiful buildings and grounds (although we were there I he evening). Fabulous menu and the food is to die for! Couldn't fault anything.

This is a stylish, traditional venue for birthday and anniversary fine dining. The food is uniformly excellent, the service is professional and the atmosphere serene. Starched white table cloths, highly polished wine glasses and fresh flowers combine to enhance the very well prepared food. The tasting menu is a delight, and showcases the kitchen's attention to quality and detail.

Having been fortunate enough to dine here on a regular basis I have can highly recommend this beautiful manor both for it's high quality of service and menu and picturesque setting in the Sussex countryside. The lunch menu is very reasonable, choosing two dishes for just over £20. Highly recommend the Ridgeview champagne, it is a must whether it is... More

We have just got back from having afternoon tea at the Ockenden Manor. The room we sat in was rather dated and bleak, not helped by an equally bleak day outside. The sandwiches and petit four were very nice but everything else was sadly average - an orange biscuit and a slice of lemon drizzle cake doesn't scream Michelin starred... More

Secluded large manor house in Cuckfield. Afternoon tea in the drawing room, open doors on to the terrace. Well portioned afternoon tea, sandwiches, scones, cakes and sweet treats on top. Peaceful place to enjoy in the countryside. Waiter was professional.
