Sadly we drove two hrs to get here for lunch as were meeting family and it was in the middle route wise for all of us.It looked great online however, the service was very slow we waited an hour for our main course, the portions were tiny which is fine as i personally don't eat very much but when you are... We were shown to a very old fashioned and hardly updated tea room - no one else was there.. A lady came and took our order and I was certainly looking for a traditional afternoon tea in what used to be a lovely old Country House Hotel. We asked to look around after our tea as I had said my... More

Great food in a great setting. Celebrating my girlfriend's 30th birthday, we were staying at the hotel and were fortunate enough to eat here as part of our stay. The food was exceptional and the service truly first-class. Highly recommended.

The tasting menu was an all round success. My wife has some food intolerances and slight adaptations were made so she could also enjoy the meal. Everything from every course was delicious

Great food and so beautifully presented at dinner and breakfast, using locally sourced produce. Also an extensive wine list.

6 course tasting menu for 2 with wine flight in this historic setting. Good mix of local produce all well executed but let down by a heavy and dry Bakewell tart to finish, which lacked any real flavour. Superb collection of English wines - Albourne Chardonnay particularly nice. Staff were superb, if a little flustered at the end, with much... More

I visited this restaurant for luncheon with 3 friends on Saturday 30 July 2016. I prefer to eat and requested vegetarian food. We were greeted by the restaurant manager on arrival. From that moment we were treated to a glorious 7 course meal served with carefully selected matching wines. The food and the service were outstanding. Two of us had... More

We dined here to celebrate our 10th Wedding anniversary when staying in the hotel and it was absolutely exceptional. We opted for the 6 course surprise tasting menu and every course was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. It's a Michelin starred restaurant and as such the prices are at this level but definitely worth it for a special occasion.

Having heard good things about the restaurant at Ockenden Manor, my wife's birthday seemed as good as reason as any to give it a try. We had stable booked for 7.30, and arrived a few minutes early. We were greeted by a very courteous member of staff, who organised our first drinks. We were shown to the lounge area where... More

A brief lunch time visit alone (female) as part of a birthday spa event. Staff attentive and sweet and helpful, hotel in beautiful grounds, food (pearl barley risotto with chanterelles) full of amazing flavours. Perfect.
