3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Visited with friends from Coventry. Lovely service, very happy smiley staff. Arrived at 2.35pm to order lunch, only to be told "orders were finished 5 minutes ago"? We decided on cream teas, as we were waiting the next table were delivered lunches?? They were there obviously before 2.30pm. The cream tea was substandard. Not even home made scones! They were... We stayed in Porlock Weir for a week. After discovering The Bottom Ship on the first day, we ate there on five evenings, the food and service were that good. Highly recommended, we will definitely be going back.

On approaching this pub it looked quite nice. It was crowded as you would expect in August. We went inside and found a table, hoping to have a meal and drinks there. We ordered wine by the glass which was very expensive. We are wine drinkers but we have never bought wine so as expensive as that. It was just... More

Thank you for your review of which I have duly noted your comments. Our wine is priced accordingly - we only make approx. 60% gross profit on wines so I assure you that it is not cheap and nasty Shiraz-Malbec - the problem with wines is that there are so many different varieties and everybody has a different palate when... Wanted a nice meal in Porlock Weir. Millers didn't open until &pm. The Cafe not open'til 6. Pop in the Ship. Had a lovely meal just after 6pm. Couldn't fault it. A fantastic range of Beers Lagers and Ciders. Spot on!

This is a wonderful location at Porlock Weir.An old working harbour with some quaint old cottages along. The bottom Ship is a great place opposite the car park with a super menu and drinks with plenty of table and chairs and cover. The food was excellent and well presented. Excellent service by the staff.

Very popular location and pleasant atmosphere. We sat outside and enjoyed our lunch in the sushine. Tuna melt baguette and a portion of chips were very filling & nicely presented.

With the sun shining sitting outside here is a good way to enjoy a drink and a snack. Service pleasant enough. Had prosecco and cider and coffee. Not sure I would want to stay here (noisy) but view is good over harbour.

We were slightly disappointed about our experience in this restaurant. The kitchen I would describe as average bar meal. The location and ambiance is good and the staff is friendly and helpfull.

This is a great place, everyone should visit it. It's right on the harbour and why not buy a bottle of Millers Gin from Millers Hotel next door.
