I had booked a Sunday lunch at one of the other hotel restaurants at Porlock Weir for for my Wife, Daughter and myself. Having arrived 15 minutes early we were informed that all Sunday Lunches were sold out. We joined a party of other disgruntled diners and headed towards The Cafe. They had some tables spare so we were able... More

Down in Porlock Weir for the music festival, staying in a cottage, and had two great lunches in The Cafe. The Oysters were, as ever, superb, and the warm Scotch Eggs cooked to perfection, complete with runny centre. Good wine list, and you can take your dog inside where a room is set aside. Would say The Cafe is slightly... More

This may only be a small restaurant and not a large menu but what they do they do very very well. The food seems to be done with something extra even the peas served with the fish and chips have an extra something added and the chips are triple cooked so are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the... In recent years the emphasis has changed to provide a wider range and variety of food. We were staying at the cafe and had dinner there. The dining room is quite small and functional with views out to Porlock Weir. Sarah is personable and professional and very pleasant. We ordered an extra basket of bread and some olives to start... This is a very small restaurant consisting of six tables, and when you consider there are five rooms here, it's really important that you book. We popped in for lunch one day. Both opted for the burgers, 1 meat and 1 veggie, and they were very good. The triple cooked chips were also great. We then decided to book for... More

We had a lovely Saturday evening in this restaurant. The food was all cooked very well and the combinations of flavours were fantastic. The food was displayed well and each course was a delicious! The service was quick and we had everything we needed. Overall a little gem by the sea.

A delightful little café/restaurant situated in the nice fishing village of Porlock Weir. Typically offering a set menu 2 or 3 courses the quality of food is good and service was also satisfactory. Their risotto was very good and recommended.

You would expect, given the name, that this would be a cafe in the traditional sense of the word, but it was in fact more like a bar come restaurant. As we had the dog we were sat in a room off the main area but still plenty of space and a good view. We visited on a Sunday and... More
