We got the four poster room with a lovely view. A big room with settee and two armchairs. Dinner was first class, a small menu, but everything looked great. Ours tasted excellent too! The attention to detail was good and there was clearly care about how things looked. Breakfast was equally great! The staff were very friendly but profession.

This is the first time we'd stayed at The Café and would certainly recommend it to others. We'd eaten here before - seafood tasting menu in Jan 2014 which was delicious - and this time we stayed on a Travelzoo offer of DB&B* for £99. Again the food was delicious, both in terms of flavour and presentation, and the staff... More

We walked around the various pubs in the village looking for a cream tea and all were either on the side of the road or packed. We walked up to this 'end of the line' location and were delighted. A lovely sunny garden and excellent value cream teas and drinks served by friendly and welcoming staff. Don't turn back when... More

Only live a few miles from this beautiful venue so as it was a miserable day decided to take a chance that we might get a table for lunch. Unfortunately it was not to be! Got off to a good start used the loo which was sparklingly clean (very impressed) then proceeded to try to get a table unfortunately at... More

I had booked a Sunday lunch at one of the other hotel restaurants at Porlock Weir for for my Wife, Daughter and myself. Having arrived 15 minutes early we were informed that all Sunday Lunches were sold out. We joined a party of other disgruntled diners and headed towards The Cafe. They had some tables spare so we were able... More

Down in Porlock Weir for the music festival, staying in a cottage, and had two great lunches in The Cafe. The Oysters were, as ever, superb, and the warm Scotch Eggs cooked to perfection, complete with runny centre. Good wine list, and you can take your dog inside where a room is set aside. Would say The Cafe is slightly... More

This may only be a small restaurant and not a large menu but what they do they do very very well. The food seems to be done with something extra even the peas served with the fish and chips have an extra something added and the chips are triple cooked so are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the... In recent years the emphasis has changed to provide a wider range and variety of food. We were staying at the cafe and had dinner there. The dining room is quite small and functional with views out to Porlock Weir. Sarah is personable and professional and very pleasant. We ordered an extra basket of bread and some olives to start...
