Set in one of the heritage areas of Britain, the ancient backdrop of the Longmynd sets the scene for this large but welcoming hotel, which caters well for walkers, cyclists and sight-see-ers. As a result the kitchen is used to dealing with individuas to large parties who are out in all weathers and they provide a good hearty range of... More

We stayed here for 1 night after attending a wedding. The hotel is clean and basic but very tired in appearance. Breakfast was a very limited choice (fruit/yogurt/cereals), cooked breakfast was average but with cold stale toast. Views are amazing and great location. Staff were friendly and obliging. Pool looked clean and inviting.

There were 40 plus of us, and the food arrived quickly and with little fuss and bother. The only criticism I have is that my salmon arrived and the only potato on offer was roast. I did eventually get some mashed potato but the staff were out of their comfort zone, and really didn't seem to want to go to... More

We took advantage of a Holiday Fellowship special offer in March 2016 and had a splendid 3 night stay here. The setting of the hotel is wonderful, high above the village of Church Stretton, surrounded by woods and open views. After a very hearty, simple but delicious dinner, and a good night's sleep in our own little 'bungalow' annexe, we... More

We visited here for a weekend Hike with HF Holidays. The self Hikes through the heather covered hills was breathtaking. The stay at the hotel was quiet and restful , and the Food was the best we had in all of England!

The choices on the menu were always interesting, and whatever was chosen was good! Service was generally quick and efficient, and staff were very pleasant

Breakfast here is a bit lacking with only one choice of fruit yoghurt (strawberry), cold toast which is thin sliced bread so like eating cardboard and all the bowls of fruit were out of tins with not a melon in sight.

As in my review it is poorly kept up and designed for coach trips with tables for 8-10 people only. Breakfast was great, staff great. Did not bother with evening meals there because of the set up and limited menu........................................................................................

We only booked the hotel the day before via Laterooms.com. Having read some reviews and looking at some unflattering photos we were unsure what to expect. The approach is up a very steep winding hill (a def no go in snowy/icy winter without a good 4x4). The hotel looks dated and run down but once inside it is actually fine.... More
