We had a nice meal here. We had soup & pate,both good. Next we had scampi & chips and the lamb chops,which were nice,but I couldn't taste the garlic in the mash. It's nice ,bright and airy restaurant,but doesn't take dogs.

Top class food and drinks . Highly recommended. Service is the best. Quality and class! Very friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely surroundings and great place to eat and sleep.

Went here for sunday lunch and was very impressed with the carvery. plenty of meat and great veg selection. staff are very friendly and organised. would certainly eat here again maybe next time with the family

Called in for lunch today 28 May 2016 The Wife had a Gammon and egg all the trimmings, I had steak and ale pie probably the best I've had and that's a lot along with a dish of veg, there was 2 eggs on the gammon, onion rings, grilled toms, and mushrooms, and proper chips, RECOMMEND to anyone, and staff... Called in on way home from Gloucester for lunch - excellent carvery - pork a rare treat. Staff very friendly and helpful. Service excellent. Obviously popular with locals and there were a lot of families there.

Went for lunch.Mum enjoys it especially their bake pototoes looked very nice ,mine dissapointing ,just had soup rather saltly ,staff very friendly service wonderful . i'm sure the other people were happy food looked good .Their sunday roast people talk about in the dale .

We visited on our way home from Liverpool on Sunday 10th April in the evening, warm welcome from the landlady, served our drinks, directed us to a table, provided menu's all very efficient , We decided on the 12oz Gammon with all the trimmings, pleasant pub with plenty of locals and a good atmosphere. Went here today for Sunday carvery with friends, absolutely delicious, we had beef and Turkey with trimmings, New potatoes roast potatoes, carrots greens and gravy, I couldn't move it was all worth the money .Be advised book first.

We used to visit fairly often prior to having our children so on a rare evening out we were looking forward to dining at Affcot however we were left incredibly disappointed by the food.
