Had one of the best Christmas Day meals in this atmospheric country pub served by the best staff. Couldn't fault. If you are anywhere near call in.

It's hard sometimes finding the words to describe probably, the best pub I've been too This is truly a welcoming establishment. It oozes ambience, and character. The food is freshly coded, to a fine standard, and the locals welcome you like a fellow local.

Had an evening meal here while staying nearby. Atmospheric, low beamed pub offering a menu with some interesting dishes including fidget pie. The standard was good but the menu was quite long and I suspect some of the meals were bought in rather than made fresh. Felt the prices were a bit high, compared with better places nearby.

Very traditional and good quality fare. Friendly Staff in what can be a busy pub. Popular with walkers and locals alike. A good choice of beers. Nice atmosphere. A hidden gem with loads of history and quirks.

This is our second visit to the Royal Oak and on both occasions we have been very impressed with the food and the service. The building is delightfully quirky, there is plenty of parking and plenty of good walks in the area around Cardington. Very well worth a visit.

We ate here because it was a convenient walking distance from where we were staying. The food was fine but we were slightly off put by a diner on an adjacent table warning us off the fish pie and the fact that the 'cream' which came with one of the desserts appeared to be Dream Topping!

A fantastic pub in a beautiful bit of rural countryside with a church just behind. A fantastic service and delicious food and very friendly staff and service very good. One of the oldest pubs in Shropshire dated back to 1651 and it is one of the best with a peaceful pub garden outside and lovely inside. PLEASE NOTE : I... More

After a visit to Carding Mill Valley four of us plus my liitle WestieX went for a Saturday night meal, I had previously booked a table and would recommend you do, although some people were turning up and having to wait an hour. Helpful staff and excellent food, quality and value. Would visit again.

Have visited twice now, no doubt will do so again and again. Great atmosphere in an old country pub, table both outside and inside, very quiet roadside location. Surrounded by great walking in the Shropshire Hills. Good beers, generous and tasty baguettes catering for all tastes, choice of brown or white bread.
