We had lunch here; leek and potato soup. Great taste but it had been microwaved and was scalding. Apart from that, nice location, friendly staff, reasonable prices. Inside and outside eating areas - outside has a sea view.

We stopped by for some coffee while doing the NC500. There latte was very nice and they had a nice selection of cakes available. The key lime pie was very good

Lovely location has small decked terrace and lean to conservatory. Amazing views over the loch, beach and burn. Had the most amazing cheese scone ever. Adjoining the quirky book shop Hillbillies. Worth a visit!

Good coffee, excellent service and the ambience of the place has lots of stories to tell. Well worth a stop if you're passing. You can also sit outside with views over the sea

Visited at 4:30 on Thursday, staff were quite rude, coffee acceptable, cakes dreadful. Straight out a freezer and defrosted, over sweet and day glow in colour. As we were sitting down staff started clearing up around us and having very loud chats behind counter. Got the feeling they would rather be anywhere but where they were. Not a great experience

I arrived on Badger Day so the staff had their faces painted like a badger which was entertaining I ordered the soup which was carrot and sweet potato but think the cook forgot to put in stock as it was tasteless and unappetising so perhaps the cafe should stick to cakes and coffee....the bookshop is great with a electic choice

Stopped off for mid morning coffee. Place is quite tacky and very cluttered. Dirty tables and uncomfortable chairs. Coffee and tea expensive as were cakes Which didn't look appetising so didn't bother. Staff not very friendly and stood for few minutes being ignored whilst the girls had chat about night out not very professional. Wouldn't recommend

Coffee quite nice but the music far too loud, thankfully the weather was good so we could sit outside. Stopping for a coffee in beautiful surroundings should be a relaxing experience not an assault on the ears..

Description
This cafe is recommended by Lonely Planet and could be fantastic. The view is good, The food looked good and some tasted good. I ma prompted ot review becase the service was very bad. The women in charge who I believe is the owner was one fo the grumpier people we met on a 5month tour of Europe. She was loudly critical of and to the young man working there, she was unwelcoming and ignored much of what we said to her. The coffee was ok but made with reluctance and an offhand attitude. We felt as if we were intruding in her space and a real nuisance -- at 11 am !!. We had driven out of the way to get to a place which we felt would be special place for a coffee. It was but in all the wrong ways. We are New Zealanders who do not normally complain but this place was worth complaining about.
