I visited the mountain coffee company on a lonely Sunday when not much else was willing to open its doors and was pleasantly surprised - loved the decor and the style of the place and immediately felt inspired to hike the Patagonian mountains or discover the next Machu Pichu! Good selection of teas and a delicious cheese scone made breakfast... More

Breakfast tea £2.50. Am I out of touch or what. My latte was very average. Didn't buy any cakes but they looked good. The gents toilet had a broken seat, couldn't turn off the hot tap and there was water across the floor. While we were drinking another customer returned to the counter to complain there were no tea bags... More

The Mountain Coffee co is a charming little cafe with a wonderful selection of coffe and yogi teas. From what I remember the staff were reasonably friendly. The real highlight were their scones, which were massive rustic and very tasty. We both had the daily special which was plum and cinnemon. I'd definitely stop by again on my way through... More

Not your average cafe - has interesting book shop attached which is worth browsing. Suspect the owner at one time lived in Thailand perhaps judging by some of pictures and gifts for sale (she also dressed for warmer climate than Scotland). Good selection of cakes / tarts etc. which certainly looked homemade rather than brought in tray bakes. Only one... More

We visited this coffee shop yesterday . I was appalled at the manner of the girl serving my husband ,she was unbelievably rude . If the coffee & cakes had not been paid for I would have turned on my heels & left the shop . People with such a bad attitude should never work with the public .

We stopped here on the way to Ullapool and we had 2 coffees and 2 cakes. we paid around 12 pounds for all. Both were very good and also the atmosphere is very relaxing.

We popped in for coffees & a tea & loved the atmosphere! My partner wandered off & came back after purchasing a book! We eyed the scones up but we on a way to visit another place so couldn't stop! Next time we were passing it was late in the day & the only scones left were a cheese one... More

Loved this place. Quirky and original. Amazing selection of cakes the plum tart was amazing. Te cheese scone more like a cheese loaf! Great coffee as you would expect from the name. Choice of places to sit. inside, conservatory or decking overlooking the loch. Adjoining a brilliant bookshop too. I believe they have rooms too.

Excellent place for coffee and the hot chocolate is good also, and the cakes etc are excellent. Our family called here after a morning at Big Sands as my son in law is a fan of good coffee and books so killed two birds with one stone as there is a book shop attached. We had a selection of drinks... More

During a road trip with a friend in Scotland, we decided to take a little breakfast in this place. The view is wonderful, the coffee is great (Marley's family coffee brand), the hot chocolate with marshmallows too, and the Key Lime Pie is just awesome. People were really lovely and the included book store is cute and really a great... More

This cafe is recommended by Lonely Planet and could be fantastic. The view is good, The food looked good and some tasted good. I ma prompted ot review becase the service was very bad. The women in charge who I believe is the owner was one fo the grumpier people we met on a 5month tour of Europe. She was loudly critical of and to the young man working there, she was unwelcoming and ignored much of what we said to her. The coffee was ok but made with reluctance and an offhand attitude. We felt as if we were intruding in her space and a real nuisance -- at 11 am !!. We had driven out of the way to get to a place which we felt would be special place for a coffee. It was but in all the wrong ways. We are New Zealanders who do not normally complain but this place was worth complaining about.
