This place is dog friendly and allows dogs in on the pub side when eating as well as the guests rooms. I guess understandably this meant the carpet in the pub side was a bit grubby compared to the Italian restaurant side. However, the room...More

Dined here a couple of times whilst staying in the village. Pasta (carbonara) was really delicious; pizza tasty too. So why nearly there? Service is not the best, very hit and miss, depending who you get. Our 2nd visit resulted in wrong food being brought...More

We called in only for a drink and got into a conversation with a couple staying there. We said we were surprised at the lack of chip shops in the area and were told this was the best place for fish and chips. They were...More

We were staying at The Hope and Anchor for one night and ending up having both lunch and dinner there too - this was after a disastrous attempt at having lunch at The Schooner Hotel (poor review has been added). The calamari was so good...More

Definitely a child friendly place. Was a really friendly and helpful place so I'm sure if you asked the chef would be able to accommodate you. All the good is cooked fresh and to order.
