I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your meal, as my husband and other staff did check several times that everything was to your liking, if you'd like to email me on enquires@thebluelion.co.uk I would be happy to assist you. Helen Klein, Owner.

The Blue Lion used to be a place for a treat, it isn't any longer. It is expensive and tatty, the dining room is particularly shabby and the worst feature in the dining room is the food. Perhaps on the evening my wife and I...More

This has got to be the best restaurant in the area. My husband and I visit the Dales twice a year and never miss a meal here. The food, atmosphere, and excellent service from Paul and his staff are really second to none. They never...More

We went for a double anniversary meal with friends who live locally on Saturday evening. My husband and I have been before with same friends several years ago and we had the same experience. We love the ambience and attentive service and delicious food.

Country house feel to the pub and restaurant with a fine selection of wine and local beers. Booking essential at peak times. Varied menu with a mix of traditional and contemporary dishes - the pork and fish dishes we tried were delicious as were most...More

This is a rather expensive but quaint and delightful restaurant for a Sunday lunch. It will cost you around £20 per person (£7 for children) - but you will not be disappointed. The restaurant is basically in the old house, and it does actually feel...More

We visited this hotel & pub on the off chance for a summer evening meal. Situated in a delightful village the atmosphere and welcome were great and the meal was a delight - interesting, well cooked and presented.

Lovely sunday menu-not a typical roast but a simplified selection front their main menu. Loved the food, cozy fire, great service and atmosphere. I would say the Blue Lion is a must for good food in the Yorkshire Dales. We will definitely return. I had...More

Yes we do. Dogs are allowed in the bar area, but not the restaurant. The menu is the same in both areas.
